- dI keep recieving calls from this 800 #. they do not answer , and will not leave reason for call!
- Caller: ?HP
- Debbie CarverI receive these calls DAILY 3 to 6 times each day. They claim to be HP calling because there fraud activity going on with my computer being reported by on their Server. This is a scam. When you call back this number it says it is a HP phone number but it is not!
- Caller: HP
- Ang RieI guarantee this is a scam. IT IS NOT HP unless you called them first and asked for help. THEY WILL NOT CALL YOU unsolicited. If you allowed them to access your computer, TAKE IT TO AN EXPERT NOW or you're in big trouble. The most important question computer professionals are asking is, "How do they know you own an HP?" We want HP to confess they got hacked or someone in their organization sold the information to these thieves. Most of the scams originate overseas (Pakistan, India, China, Russia, Ukraine, Indonesia, Yugoslavia, Egypt, Romania, Turkey, Russia, Pakistan, Malaysia, and Nigeria). They often uses "spoofing" software to imitate legitimate phone numbers. It is identical to the Microsoft Windows scam where they inform you "your computer has notified them there is a problem, but don't worry, they'll fix it." Sure they will...! They scam you in several ways: 1. If you give them access to your computer, they plant malware that they can later activate and hold your data for ransom. 2. They steal personal or financial data and use it to empty your accounts or for identity theft or to sell it to a gang specializing in identity theft. 3. They "fix" your computer or printer and then charge you; if you don't pay, they "crash" the device. 4. Then they try to sell an annual contract at an outrageous price. Please don't be foolish enough to listen to their scam; hang up immediately. They've made millions from it and will continue to harass innocent people until everyone knows about their schemes and they can't steal anything more.
- Caller: Scammer imitating HP
- PaulT replies to BJUnfortunately for me, I believe that you are correct
- VanessaThey've been blowing my phone up I couldn't understand them and he asked me if I was deaf! I said excuse me and they hung up...they will not stop calling!
- Tom AThis was the third call I got from someone who could barely speak English. The caller ID showed that it was a number used by HP. He wanted me to give him access to my PC, claiming that their were "problems" with some of my services. I ran the HP Assistant, which HP installs on its computers specifically for the purpose of identifying and fixing problems and found "No Messages" and "No Updates Available". When I asked him to give me a number to call HP Support directly to confirm his claims, he immediately hung up. I called HP Customer Support and was told that HP NEVER initiates calls offering technical support to fix something on a PC and was told that such calls are a SCAM.
- Caller: Fake HP Customer Service
- Call type: Telemarketer
- Tom AI must say these scammers are certainly persistent! I've had up to three calls a day in the last week from an HP spoofed phone number. I answered again today. The woman said she was calling from HP Technical Support. When I asked, "Why are you calling me?", the line immediately went dead. Again, BEWARE! I have spoken with two representatives at HP who both said that HP NEVER initiates a call to perform service on their products.

- TT19 April 2017 - 10:15 am - Caller I.D. (800) 474-6836 - THIS is NOT HP - These calls are the most recent form of tele-fraud - Over-seas individual claims to be from HP technical support and wants to gain access to my computer - Check the actual HP website for an alert re: these fraudulent calls - They are spoofing various toll-free (legit) phone numbers - If anyone phones claiming to be from HP, Dell, etc. do not provide personal information and do NOT allow anyone access to your computer -

- Caller: scammer from india
- EmmyThey called saying they were from medicare! Obviously a scam seeing as they've been running an HP scam for years. They must have given up and are now trying to scam poor medicare people.

answer anonymous calls. SCAM??- Caller: Not stated.
- SteveTHESE ARE FAKE HP SUPPORT SCAMMERS CALLING FROM INDIA. These criminals use tie-lines to spoof fake HP phone numbers in order to try to convince you that you have problems with your computer. They then try to have you download a program that lets them access your computer and that is when they really infect your computer with a virus that requires you to pay money to them to remove. These India criminals also pose as fake Microsoft Support phone calls to try to gain access to your computer so they can download a virus onto your computer and then charge you money to remove the virus. I always love to toy with these India criminals by playing along with their scam and dragging out the phone call for at least a full hour pretending to be a helpless computer novice. LOL!!
- Caller: India criminals using fake HP Support phone number to scam you for money
- Tojo800-474-6836 is a valid HP number. I just go a hangup call. I called HP and expressed concern that Someone is making Nuisance hang up calls and irritating their customers. I already have this number in my phone directory as HP Technical Support. PS It would be nice to have US technical support, they would be much easier to understand.
- Caller: unknown, but not HP
- aakcall came in at 6:09 pm on 9/13/17. Caller hung up when answering machine came on; left no message, Caller ID identified call as toll free call. we do not answer unidentified callers; nor do we call them back. In reading above complaints, it is most certain that this number is not a valid HP number and is total scam. DO NOT ANSWER and DO NOT GIVE ANY INFORMATION! WE have an old working compaq that is not connected to the internet. There is not way anyone can determine there is a problem with that computer only we, ourselves and us!!!!!
- Caller: Toll Free Call
- 800 474-6836Amazing how many people thought their calls were actually from HP. Wise up people -- it's a scam. 800 474-6836 -- spoofed or not -- it's still a scam. HP does not solicit random telephone numbers. This time they claimed to be from "HP" -- but they usually alternate claiming they are calling from "Windows" using a sister number at the same location. If you allow them, they will disable your computer and hold it hostage for ransom until you provide them with your credit card data. If that happens, throw out your computer because if you pay once they own you.
- Caller: "UNAVAILABLE" (scam)
