- BigA replies to SarahHP would not ask anyone for an iTunes card as payment. That isn't how honest business is conducted. It is the preferred payment of thieves however. Things are getting too difficult at Western Union, Moneygram, and places where they sell cards, as they have stepped up their efforts to prevent those services from being used to pay scammers. HP has no idea what is on your computer unless you call them directly. This is best done by looking up their number using the preinstalled help section that came with the computer.
- annoyed2nd call this week.
I happened to answer today and got...dead silence followed by a machine-sounding female voice saying "good bye". - I.C.Willard| 1 replyI would like to BLOCK all calls from this number. They have called me EIGHT (8) times today.
- Caller: HP
- Tygerkat replies to I.C.WillardIf you would like to block all calls from this number, go right ahead. No one will stop you. Of course, if you're wanting someone here to do it for you, sorry, that's not how this site works.
- XYZPersistent little buggers calling once a day over last several days. No Caller ID name displayed so I do not answer. They do not leave any voicemails so they can simply shove it!
- Caller: Unitdentified
- samno ID, no message, I do not own anything HP
- Mike C.I get multiple calls from this number daily. Usually don't answer. One time I called the number back and got HP support, did not leave a message. Next call from this number I answered. No body was on the line. After a short time I got a recorded message from a female voice saying "good-by" Finally blocked the number. Today they have called four times.
- Illinois residentNobody on the line when I answered. Must be the day for spam calls, I must have had a half dozen today. I have had these fake computer assistant calls before. They just want your information, credit card name and personal information to charge you a lot for nothing. One guy who called said my HP was sending out malware and he called to fix it. I told him my computer was not a HP it was made by Bogus PC's and that I wanted to distribute malware and that it was working fine. He hung up, I love messing with these idiots. Maybe they will find a real job some day.
- John IllinoisNobody just calls you about your anything unless you initiate a request. If someone is calling you and you have not requested help then you are being fished to get information from you. How many people probably have HP something in their homes? This is a good bet for a scammer just as they would pick out a common credit card bank, or large shipping company like FedEx. The world is full of scammers so beware and don't accept offers of help when you never ask for it.
- lizI called dish network about my 775 c0de that always appear on my screen when ever they want to interrupt svc. they're trying to blackmail me into getting insurance for a fee every month, when I refuse, they turn my svc off. so I called for my final bill so I could cancel svs, but they switched me over to technical support. they didn't speak English and they were belligerent, kept asking for my phone number! I refused and hung up. they tried calling me back but I didn't answer, did add them to my "auto reject" list though. dish network/at&t are less than honorable people. they get they're equipment from bogus people and then want you to pick up the bill for there flawed equipment, by selling you insurance so they wont have to pay for it!

- C.ynthiagot the phone number from my server to contact HP and was supposed to be an extended service to what I was already paying for. After they gained access to my computer I was charged another 250.00 When that service had expired they have continued to harass me spoofing their number so I cannot block their calls calling up to 5 times a day as early as 6:30 a.m. I have blocked several numbers am on the no call list and the calls continue. If I let the answering machine pick up they leave no message, if I answer it sometimes they will talk sometimes dead air, other times laugh and hang up.
- AmyI keep getting calls from this number stating they are from HP and that they are getting activity regarding my HP Computer. #1- I haven't had an HP for over 15 years. #2- tried to argue with me when I advise this information. Soooo, there is that.
- Caller: HP
- jbdean replies to BJSorry but that's not correct. They do call you for tech support. I've been receiving calls and emails on a printer issue for several weeks.
- N.A.Called landline tonite close to11:00pm. CID displayed UNAVAILABLE. We NEVER answer ANY unsolicited call. No message was left. No message, call not important and ignored. What idiot calls at almost 11:00 at night. Presumed CRIMINAL wanting to victimize whoever answers the phone. - Maureen replies to BJBJ
I had a call from what they claimed as HP Tech support yesterday. I refused to do what he wanted and said I would call HP. He gave me a number and name to call back. I called customer service and they said they are not allowed to call customers unless pre arranged which has happened with me recently. They said the scam has been in the States but seems it is now being tried in Canada. As you said Jeff should clear anything he did if they called him. - ESKeep calling claiming hey are HP support. This is obviously a scam.
- KeithClaims to be Hewlett-Packard
- IT GuyFFS, people! This is a forged (spoofed) support number for HP. If you receive an unsolicited call from this number, it is safe to assume it is a TECH SUPPORT SCAM!!! Unless you initiated a support request with HP, don't answer the call! They will scam you out of your money, instruct you to install software to remotely access your PC. If you get tricked into giving them your credit card number, you will need to cancel the card immediately
- Caller: Scammer
- John DoeI redialed the number and it was HP. However, HP never solicits calls. Unless one calls HP for service, there is no need for conversation just hang up. Having a conversation with a foreign speaking individual is frustrating and useless if one does NOT need service.
