- Mary Joseph| 1 replyThey had our monthly mortgage amount. They said the amount paid was only principle and we need to pay the interest
- Caller: Wells Fargo Bank
- Call type: Debt collector
- BigA replies to Mary JosephAny loan, the bank gets its interest first. That is why when you look at the statement, the interest decreases and the principal increases. Now assuming that you didn't pay the full amount, it would be applied to interest first, then if anything was left to the principal. That way they can charge you extra interest and late fees, etc. This is a scam to get you to pay money. Call Wells Fargo Directly, not the number that was left for you to call, but the number on your statement and talk to them.
- PJ replies to AnthonyMust be a scam. I have never had any dealings with WF.
- Candy replies to SandraThey just called me & I don't have a mortgage with them either.
- Receptionist Too2Appears to be black hole. I've tried on numerous occasions to get past their menu and simply cannot. Especially since it took 15 incomplete messages over the matter of 6 days, just to finally get a whole phone number to call. Perhaps they should use a live person instead of a robo-dialer
- Caller: Wells Fargo
- Robert Nickila replies to frustratedIt's a scam!! Whatever you do, do not answer this phone call!!! It's all completely fake!! The person calling doesn't work for Wells Fargo!!
- KenI use a service that redirects known scam phone numbers. They ring once and the call is gone. I kept getting this call 5+ times a day, so I called it back. Wells Fargo picked, got a recording & pressed "O". Told the rep I have no business relationship with them, listed at least 4 agencies that would get notice if they called again, and stated I am, "...not asking, but telling them never to call again." It seems to have done the trick.

- Bureau of Land ManagementWe are a Federal Agency. These calls come in between 5 to 6 times a day. Once we have identified ourselves, they hang up. It is very disruptive.
- ChrisThis is Wells Fargo collections dept. However, since Wells Fargo bought loans out from other banks, you may not have an account with them. My mortgage is through ASC and I deal with them on a regular basis, but the financial part of my loan is collected by Wells Fargo. Took me some time to figure that out, but Wells Fargo Controls other companies loans now.
- Caller: Wells Fargo Home Mortgage
- Call type: Debt collector
- UJakeWells Fargo or not, my loan isn't directly through them and it's on autopay, so I never have bothered to actually answer these calls (it's been approx. 2 months now that they've been calling near-daily).
Sometimes I mute the ringer, sometimes I answer and hang up in one motion; sometimes I answer and set the phone down so that, in case there's a real person on the other end, they can enjoy whatever music I'm listening to until they decide to hang up. Maybe next time I'll press "0" first before I play them some tunes... - noGot a plain sheet on my door telling me to contact my mortgage servicer immediately. No name to who its for or from, just to call this number. Guy in shorts passed by and took a picture of the paper right before he left it on my door and walked away. Looks shady and most likely a scam.
- Gary L JohnsonThis number calls my cell phone multiple times during the day. Its very annoying
- Caller: Wells Fargo
- Ron| 1 replyGetting calls from them. I don't pick up and they always leave the same cryptic message. A woman's voice says something like, "You have to be quiet. [garbled word] worship [garbled word] idols. Do you need any money? We'll trade somewhere in the middle." This can't be Wells Fargo.
- MirandaIn reading everyone else's comments, it does appear to be a legitimate call. Too bad I had to look it up on the internet, as they leave me 40 second messages of dead air. It's irritating, and frustrating. Pissed!!!

- RebeccaThis number has been calling my daughter who is living in my home for two days four times a day demanding to talk to my husband or myself. When my daughter explains we live out of country she is told to call us ant tell us to call Wells Fargo. Well calling Wells Fargo I am told no one called us and there is no problems with our mortgage or any other account. So I got the number from my daughter 18006787986 and called Wells Fargo back they say this number is not associated with Wells Fargo so I am assuming all the people on here that say it is is on the up and up are either working with the scam or they are just foolish. Wells Fargo also suggested that I google the number to see if any one else is having this problem. Hope this helps.

- Amber replies to WF EmployeeSame thing happened to me. It says Wells Fargo when you call. I just hung up when I heard that. The confidential envelope and urgent notice to contact mortgage servicer immediately on the otherwise blank piece of paper looked very shady. I'm going through a divorce, so my ex missed one payment and we immediately received a legitimate letter from Wells Fargo regarding this, so i thought it must be real. But none of the numbers on my Wells Fargo paperwork match.
- Disturbed| 1 replyI read that this number is from Wells Fargo...HOWEVER...I am getting disturbing voice mails left from this number.
Spoken in a child's voice...
"BEEP...You'll have to be very quiet. They worshipped wooden idols. If you need any money, you must reach somewhere in the middle...BEEP"- Caller: WF?
- Disturbed replies to RonMine is the same.
"You'll have to be very quiet. They worshipped wooden idols. If you need any money, you must reach somewhere in the middle." - DoreenReceived a call, listened to voice mail...it said something like You have to be very quiet, if you need money...then it was not understandable, it was a child's voice.
- LP replies to Disturbedit is wells fargo. same thing happened to me
