This # is indeed from wells Fargo home mortgage. I had been getting missed calls from this # without any voicemail. After approximately 4 calls they finally left a msg stating it was an attempt 2 collect a debt & all information I provided would be used for thus purpose. I was asked to call back this # and instead I called (800) 222-0238 which is The phone # for Wells Fargo Mortgage on my monthly statements. I didn't call the phone # back because I knew I was current on my mortgage & thought it might be a scam. When I called Wells Fargo they told me I was delinquent on my mortgage & hadn't paid the current months mortgage (it was the 30th of the month & I made my payment in the 1st).  I told them their records were inaccurate and I had my receipt to proove it. I found my handwritten receipt & after looking @ it I remembered why it was handwritten. There was a power outage the day I paid my mortgage so everything was done manually. Apparently the branch I went to dropped the ball and hadn't processed the funds appropriately. I was told the matter would be resolved in 5 days. I'm still waiting but this fone # is definitely used to collect on delinquent payments!

I've been working with Americas Servicing Co., which is part of Wells Fargo, for a 2nd lien loan modification (2MP) for the past 12 months. Its a mess. First they told me I was not eligible because they were receiving derogatory information from the treasury concerning my 1st loan. My loan is current since the loan modification and I proved it. I had to submit a whole bunch of paperwork.  Afterwards, I got an application packet, which turned out to be wrong paperwork. The forms were for HEMP.  I got two letters, one after another, from two different person who would be taking care of my modification. None of the two people were reachable. I called and there was no answer. I  left voice messages, no luck on that either. About a month ago I called the customer service about the status and the representative tells me that they sent me a form to sign, a form I never received, so she resent me the form. I received the form and sent back. Two weeks ago, I got a phone call from some Christine, who is supposedly working on my modification. The form I signed and sent back turned out to me incomplete, so she is sending me another set of forms. The lord only knows what is going on as I still wait for the forms. People in authority are not acting in good faith, this is why we have all the trouble although we live in the best country.

I keep getting calls from Wells Fargo about every hour and half. From different area codes and numbers. They say there trying to collect a debt. But I have automatic withdraw and they always call several days in advance of the time they scheduled my withdraws. And they are the same as original loan date. To me this is nothing more than harassment. And it gets old every month. Have not had a single late payment in 4 years. I am about to switch to a local bank, since WF closed theirs here. About had it with calls.

They called yesterday and message said it was an effort to collect a debt. Wells Fargo mortgage has never serviced any loans, mortgages or even a savings account for me.  I am not late on my current mortgage and it is quite apparent that this is a scam to get information. You are correct. This is legit. Thanks for the heads up. It is still annoying nonetheless. If I didnt have less than 3 yrs remaining on mortgage, I would ditch Wells Fargo with warp speed.

These people calling our residence are CRAZY CRAZY CRAZY. They have called my phone # for months. I do not answer because I don't recognize the #. I do not have a mortgage or anything else with these people, never will have since I know who is calling. This is a very bad business practice.
Sometimes they leave a message but most of the time I just hang up the phone. I wish I knew how to get rid of this situation.

They have called me twice at work.  I have never had any mortgage with them and suspect that it is a scam.  My caller ID lists their identity as UNKNOWN--another tip-off that this is a scam.  If you have a mortgage with Wells Fargo, call the number listed on your statement.  And never, never give out your personal account numbers.  If the call is genuine, they already have all of the information that they need.

So in answer to those claiming scam: Yes, it's Wells-Fargo. We have a loan with them, which has been slightly late since my wife lost her job due to Obamanomics (yay for "change"). So yes, it's past due. I accept that.

For those ticked off that they keep calling: Answer the phone! Explain the situation. Tell them when you will be paying your bill. Calls stop. Easy as pie!

To the conspiracy theorists who are upset that WF is targeting them: hellooo.. computerized society. Computers don't see, "Mr. Smith has been a customer for XX years, so we'll let him slide." Computer says, "IF PAYMENT NOT RECEIVED BY MMDDYYYY, THEN PAYMENT = LATE. IF PAYMENT = LATE THEN CALL CUSTOMER."

Or .. pay your bill on time.

It is Wells Fargo, they call many times a day.. I am an unemployed Vet. and have to tell them the same info over and over. SAdly I have a mortgage with them. They harrass and keep adding interest.. They suck.

dont think its really wells fargo when I call it back I get a "call cannot be placed message",  and I made my payment before it was due, customer service confirms they have the payment and that no one is trying to get a hold of me from WF,  the robo dialer calls on the 14th but this # has been calling since the 1st and it is not a machine it is a person asking me for my account info,  when I ask what it is regarding they say they cannot tell me 'till I verify my account info I never give my info unless I am making the call and know who I am talking to not to people who call me asking for info.

i don't think this is well fargo mortgage because they just called my work phone and i answered and it was a recording saying that this is well fargo mortgage this call is regarding your home mortgage please call this number... I don't seven have a home mortgage so i know this is a scam.

if this wells fargo why are they calling me at my work place? i don't not currently nor have i ever had a mortgage, loan or any type of account with them. and why is wells fargo saying that the number does not belong to them? if i were you i would actually call the number on your statements because this really sounds like a scam to me. i have never had anything through them.
