This is indeed WFHM... just a heads up.  Or an affiliation of theirs like ASC or some other dect collector.  If WF is asking you to send in information regarding your loan DON"T!!   This means that they don't have the information that they need to foreclose on you, and this will also verify the "debt" you supposedly owe.  The same goes for signing a Modiciation agreement.  You are signing you life away, and also your right to pursue legal recourse against them.  They like to break the laws at their own will.  Do not send them anything.  If you are in foreclosure, etc... this phone call asking you to send in mortgage information is the absolute latest "unbleievable" thing to date that I have heard to date.   They don't have the information they need to foreclose.  End of story.  Why provide them with it especially if they are illegally trying to take your home?  Read up on all of this.  Do your own research into this.  They are scum.  They also have eight million phone numbers, and depts.  My advice? Commincate with them in writing only.

Wells Fargo is NOTORIOUS for losing paperwork then not telling their clients about it. We've been attempting a loan modification for 2 years. That's right 2 YEARS! We either don't send in the right paperwork, don't sign something, don't send in enough paperwork, or whatever. People should avoid doing business with Wells Fargo at all costs. I know in the future I will NEVER do business with them again.

These calls are from the Wells Fargo Home Mortgage collections department. My mortgage payment is due on the 1st and late on the 17th. My mortgage is current and my payment is not late. Nevertheless, WF made four computer generated collection calls in the first week of the month as early as 8:30 AM and as late as 9:00 PM. I sent a fax and a CMRRR letter containing the following: “This is in response to numerous phone calls I have received from you. Pursuant to the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act, with regard to any matter concerning the collection of this or any other debt you allege is owed to your company or to your principal/customer/client I demand that (i) you make no telephone contact with me, (ii) all communications must be only in writing and sent to the address above, and (iii) you make no attempt to contact any third party including any members of my family or my employer. This letter also verifies that I live at the address above, therefore, any further locator attempts would be a violation of the above named Act.” I included my name, address, phone number and loan number.

So far so good….no more calls. Good luck.

I've been getting hangups and recorded messages from this number several times a day for some time now. I just called them back. They are Wells Fargo Home Mortgage and the recording asked for the last four digits of my S.S. No and my Mortgage number. I entered 1234 and garbage. They asked me to repeat. I sent it again. Then then the recording said they don't have a record of such a mortgage number. They kept asking for my numbers over and over again and I just let them repeat for a while I entered nothing. Finally another message said that this number calls people with delinquent accounts and then they transferred me to a real person. I asked "Jeff", "Why do you keep calling me?  I don't have a Wells Fargo Mortgage, Car Loan, Savings Account, Checking Account, Credit Card or any other type of account and have never in my life had any kind of account with Wells Fargo and he can be sure now that I never will either. I just kept on talking and giving Jeff an earful. When I finally paused for a moment he apologized and said that he will take my name off their call list. We'll see.

I just received a letter from Wells Fargo saying "As you have instructed, we have taken the necessary steps to cease all telephone calls. This will be effective for the life of the loan, or until you remove or rescind   this request."

    So, it works.

YES it is Wells Fargo.  Our Mortgage Company.  It is an automatic dialer & if you are behind on payments, (which we are), they call & call & call.  I answered once & talked to the person & hoped that would stop the calls for awhile.  They know our situation.  Been trying for a load modification with them for over a year & a half.  So irritated with them.  The calls never stop, so I just don't answer them anymore.

If you think it is a scam then you need to check this link:  https://www.wellsfargo.com/homeassist/

It is from Wells Fargo's own website.

They ARE NOT Wells Fargo. I have 5 properties and ALL are current. Two have WF mortgages.
When a woman identified herself as being from Wells Fargo, calling about my property loan,
I asked which property and she HUNG UP.

Call 3-4 times a day, won't leave message, always a missed call.  When called back, claims to be a coupon center.

    Unbelievable!

I AM LESS THAN 14 DAYS LATE!

I have owned my home for over 25 YEARS!  Never missed a payment until now.  I became disabled quite suddenly late in October.

    My claim is still pending.
