- Churchlady4044 replies to BrendaYou do not have to be in trouble to be harassed as several people have noted. Once they get some idea about you, right or wrong, they shake it like a terrier with a rat. Don't make assumptions - people are here due to the CALL, not due to their credit issues.
- Choicelperson816 replies to PaybackWhatever banks do, the employees are your neighbors. Give up the hype - you are just making violence against other people a way of life.
- Bethany replies to YahwehYou ASSUME what banks have done - outside of laundering drug money that has never been punished in criminal courts - is illegal. While most Americans were dozing away during the 80s and 90s, banks were making what they did LEGAL.
- Patrick replies to getajob#6 I gave them the number of my emergency cell phone that is kept in the car for just that and not even turned on. So debt collectors such as yourself are screwed. Proving my point about how stupid debt collectors are you helped with this bit of proof...
"I would bet you probably never use that advise"
I believe the word you were struggling for was ADVICE.

- Watchdog2 replies to AngieIt's not about the creditors here. It's about how the debt is being collected. Just google this firm and see what comes up. They don't have the right to harass people.
- Howard SteeleyOne of my sons is receiving calls repeatedly and too early in the morning. Their latest rotten trick is to make their number show up on caller ID as 11800-684-8429, which can not be blocked by Xfinity Voice. They will not give me the name of their company, and hang up when I ask. They say they are calling my son about a personal business matter. I plan to report them to FTC, State AG's office, and BBB.

- Ter replies to Gunnar| 1 replyLOL Did you seriously claim that debt collectors are trying to con people out of their money? But yet it seems that many people on here are the ones that are looking to evade paying their debt. It isn't the debt collector trying to con people but the people who are trying to con the companies they owe. Yes, they are annoying. But so are the slackers that can't be bothered to pay their bills. If people actually paid their bills instead of trying to steal (and yes, it's stealing because they took something without paying for it) then there would be no need for debt collectors. Think about it.
- Fraud Squad replies to NinaPart of a fraud campaign targeting numerous financial institutions. Note the pattern of shill postings all claiming the number is real - an obvious giveaway.
The large number of phony posts claiming the call is real come from some con artists spamming the site to try to fool people. There is a similar pattern to other fake calls claiming to be from Chase, Citibank, Bank of America, US Bank, Wells Fargo, RBC, PayPal, etc. all with the same shill postings:

- KenThis number keeps calling, claiming to be from Capital One about my credit card, but I don't even have a card with them. Asked where the person was they were trying to contact, they told me California, but I live in Florida. They said they were transferring my call to the fraud department, but then the line went dead. I called Capital One, who claimed to have no knowledge of the 800 number that was calling me.
