This is a real # from WF.  I called WFs customer service line and, in fact, there was a fraudulent transaction on my account.  The card was cancelled, imposition for me.

Again, a real # with their fraud dept.

This number called me several times at home. Instead of calling back... I called the wells fargo number on the back of my card. I spoke to a representative that showed no fraud comments on my account and had no notes of irregular activity. I decided to check my statement online and I had a $160 charge at Target during the day which I had not made. I called wells fargo back to cancel the card and dispute the charge. I never called the random number back, but when I first spoke with wells fargo they had no clue what I was talking about.... Maybe just a weird coincidence... But I suggest calling back a trusted wells fargo number.... The 2 numbers do not seem connected.

It's a valid number.  It's Wells Fraud Department.  Called me today when I tried paying for our vacation in Mexico ($2200).  After validating the charge was legit, it went through.

Wells Fargo confirms that this number is in fact fraudulent - a phishing scam.  The number is fake - do not provide any information to the callers.  Report the number to Wells Fargo immediately.

Looks like another shill posting here.  Beware - this is NOT Wells Fargo, as many victims have reported.

This is 100% fraud, and these idiots saying it isnt are just part of the scam. I have gotten several messages from this number on my cell phone, and the only WF account I have is a card with a high limit that I have not used in over a year. I called wells fargo number, from the card, and they assured me there had been no transactions on the card. This is definately a scam and these lowlifes that do it need to GET A LIFE and get a real job instead of trying to mess with peoples lives.

This was Wells Fargo fraud department. They called to notify me of fraudulent activity on my account. They never asked for any personal information.

I called Wells Fargo - and this is not one of their # at all nor for the Fraud Dept.
DO NOT CALL THIS NUMBER BACK. Do not give any information.
No bank is going to have an automated system call you on Fraud! Nor have a caller ID when you return their call.

So, what does WF do if any unauthorized transactions happen? You said that "the charges were cleared but disputed". What exactly does it mean? Disputed by who? What did you do to get your money back to you?

I got this today.  Called the number on my card instead.  There was no block, but she transferred me to that number.  They asked for my phone number that I received the message on and then gave me my name.  Then asked for my zip code.  After I gave that it returned with 5 recent activities that were legitimate.  

IF the number was the one that the Wells Fargo employee dialed, it is legit.  

Call the number on your card first.

I received the automated message at my job and my home. When I called the toll free number on the back of my card they stated that there were no red flags on my account or card. They had no record of 800-704-0855 being a contact for their fraud department or the ID Theft proctection program.

This is a scammer calling as Wells Fargo.  This number is on a fraud watch-list.

Same thing just happened to me. Although the automated number seemed suspicious, they were notifying me of a legitimate fraud concern.  I did indeed call the mail line to process the actual fraud.

I got a phone call from this number and they stated that they were from wells fargo and asked personal information. Please do not answer any of the questions.

Caller ID said "TOLL FREE CALL " <8007040855>

This actually appears to be legit. They called for one of our employees about a fraudulent charge. She called the number on the back of her card and they advised her there was a suspicious use of her card. Her relative had used the card to purchase fuel and punched in the wrong zip code.

This is actually a valid Wells Fargo fraudulant activity number. I didn't answer, but logged into my online account immediately, and sure enough had a fraudulant charge to Wal-mart in Georgia. Just to be sure though I called back the regular Wells Fargo 1-800 # and filed my claim through them and they took care of it.

This is most diffinately a scam BEWARD

I just received a call from this same name saying that they are from the Wells Fargo Fraud department.  Called the number on the back for my card which is different.  They stated that this is not a number from Wells Fargo.  Beware and do not give them any information....
