It is not a Wells number.  If you don't believe it, just call the number on the back of your card.  Calling back a number that the robot gives you is NOT how they do transaction confirmation.

No, it's not.  Never call a number you've been given by an automated system or in a VM message.  Always use the number on the back of your card or from your statement.

This number is a LEGITIMATE Wells Fargo "fraud prevention" number. They do this if there are transactions trying to post to your account that you might not have authorized! Please call them back.

When I received a call from this number, it said it was fraud protection. So I looked the number up, and I didn't call the number back.

as of 1/17 This is a Valid #, got a call they left a message about Fraud Activity, I looked it up online found this thread so I called the # on the back of my card, went through Wells Fargo's Automated system to get to the Fraud Department, they confirmed that there was a block on my account do fraud suspicion, and read me some of my recent transactions to validate that if they were mine or not. DO NOT just look online, it will not show the block, just call the # on the back of the card.

It may or may not be a valid number but as phone numbers are easily spoofed, the smart thing for anyone receiving this call to do is hang up and call the number on the back of their card.

This is a legit call.  I followed up the next day with the Fraud number on the website.  They confirmed the fraudulent activity and that my card was canceled and a new one sent.

This is Wells Fargo! I called Wells Fargo, not this number, and confirmed someone was using my debt card online!! Spent over $1000! I'm so happy they called before all that money came out of my account!!!
