I have loan from them from college. They've been sending letters and e-mails since October/November. But here's the thing, the loans are not under my name- there under my dads...we just have the same name. I have to job so I have no money so it's techically my dad's problem until I can get a job. I have no idea how they got my phone number because they shouldn't. They never called my cell phone before today. I really can't stand them. I hope they don't call again cuz they can talk to my dad and send emails and crap like they have been.

its not sallie mae just called the number back and its global trust. dont know dont answer and as far as sallie mae and paying loans off, LOOK its not that easy  for some. i was working ended up with a sprain neck and shoulder could not work for over a yr, yes i received funds but barely enough to get by, paying for house, food, fuel, gas, and all the other things in life that are important just remember before you run your mouth at someone there may be a ligate reason for them not being able to pay other than just not wanting to

I just applied for a subsudized loan for next semester, and have never had any type of assistance or loans of any kind up until this point.  I haven't even been rewarded any loan money yet, and they're already calling me demanding payment?  I spoke to some coworkers who have dealth with Sallie Mae, and they call 3 times a week even though payments are scheduled to come out automatically twice a month.  Sounds like an unorganized company, what a waste of the company's time and money to call people who faithfully pay.

This is indeed Sallie Mae.  I have been receiving calls from the incessantly and I don't even have a student loan with them.  They are looking for someone else and I have told them that repeatedly, yet they keep calling.  I am so freakin' sick of it.  I have talked to at least 5 different people who have sworn to me that I would not receve any further calls.  Yeah, RIGHT!!  The next phone call I get from them, I'm going to verbally rip that person a new one.

You obviously read none of the posts -- most people are reporting that they don't have any such loans!  Clearly this company, whether Sallie Mae or not, is calling plenty of the wrong people.

Call Sally Mae, let them know you have been getting calls from them.  Ask why they are calling requesting money that hasn't been disbursed yet.  Also contact your financial aid dept.  They can assist you with this as well.

More of the same. Left message with wife for me to call back at this number (matched caller ID). When I did, got numerous computer prompts for SSN (which I ignored) and waited for live person.
First thing she did was ask for my SSN (did not identify herself). I asked who she was and that it's illegal except for the SSA. She stated it's not illegal and tried to say more, but I cut her off saying it's been illegal since I was first issued mine in 1974 and specifically asked her again who she was. Finally claimed to be Sallie Mae. I again said I was returning their call, what did they want, but NO ATTEMPT was made to find out who I was other than SSN. Refused to put me on do not call list. Call ended with me advising I would be filing a complaint with the do not call registry.
NOTE: THIS NUMBER DOES NOT MATCH THE NUMBER LISTED ON THE SALLIE MAE WEBSITE!!! https://www.salliemae.com/about/contact-us/

Go back to school and maybe you can write better.  It is spelled "it's" when it is a contraction.  Also, it is "the government will take the money you OWE them", not own them, unless you think the American people own the government, in which case that is another discussion.

Listen to Dean on the bottom of page 6.

If you don't owe a debt, or the debt isn't due, it should raise some red flags of the legitimacy of this number.

If you called back from a restricted number, a non main number on file, or if your phone number appears on several accounts, they need to know which loan or loan holder you are calling about. What sucks is that you are calling a batch number and because it was a robot calling you will never know who was being asked for.

This is the collection offices of Sally Mae. You likely receive a call from this number if you have defaulted or have a past due student loan through the Department of Education.

Don't let them take your tax return. File for a forbearance due to economic hardship or refinance.

Go to the FCC and fill out the form on line.  I've done that with every idiot caller and they have stopped calling.  I'm doing it right now for this number.
