- zasty| 1 replyThese people keep calling me at work!! I have tried to tell them that I can not receive any personal call at work!! Isn't there a law against harassment at work!!!
- Britt| 1 replyThey just keep calling and calling and calling.
Yes I have debt that is already with a different collection agency and is already getting paid off...why the hell would I need two collection agencies trying to get the money from me?
Not to mention it took them abou 15 calls before they left a message, and all that was on it was the girls name and the phone number with her extention...absolutly no reguards to what its about.
And on top of that they call at totally absurd hours...and if I dont pick up sometiems they start calling me 10 minutes later. Its getting really old really fast.- Caller: Didnt mention it
- Lissie| 2 repliesFirst I started getting phone calls from unknown number. i don't answer those calls because i don't know who it's from. then they call 1 minute later and again about two more times. I get these calls so early in the morning or after 8 pm. Then they started to leave messages saying it's a very important matter. After about a month, they started to call with a withheld number. I answered because i know people that have private numbers and it turned out to be the same people. I told them to stop calling. ANd just now they called with a 1800 number and it seemed so familiar to me so i called back and a live person answered right away so I hung up. I get these phone calls at least 6 times a day.

I worked as a collector for more than 20 years...let's just say, he's not very good, although he trys to sound so important.
I don't owe anything to anyone. I want them to leave me alone.
It is against the law for them to harrass an individual.
I wish this [***] would get a real job and leave me the "F" alone.

- Annoyed In Ohio| 1 replyThese people have been calling me on my cell phone for months, looking for someone I don't even know.
I have spoken to them repeatedly and asked them to please stop calling me. I have explained numerous times that I do NOT know Kimberly, I'm NOT Kimberly, I've never MET Kimberly, I'm in no way responsible for Kimberly. I've had my cell phone for four years. The number is WRONG and to please stop calling, I want my number removed from the list!
What further steps do I need to take to make them stop?- Caller: Unknown

- MichaelFROM THE FTC WEBSITE -
A Texas-based debt collection company will pay more than $1.3 million to settle Federal Trade Commission charges that it misled, threatened, and harassed consumers in violation of federal law.
“Debt collectors who get complaints from consumers should not only take notice, but also take action,” said Lydia B. Parnes, Director of the FTC’s Bureau of Consumer Protection. “The message from this case is clear: Either comply with the law or face stiff penalties.”
According to an FTC complaint, in many instances, collectors for LTD Financial Services, L.P., which collects on about 1.25 million consumer accounts per year, violated the FTC Act and the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act by falsely threatening or implying that LTD would garnish consumers’ wages, seize or attach their property, or initiate lawsuits or criminal actions against them if they failed to pay..
LTD collectors, who collect in English and Spanish, allegedly called consumers at their place of work despite knowing it was inconvenient for them to receive calls there, and disclosed the existence of debts to family members, employers, co-workers, and neighbors. They also allegedly harassed consumers and used abusive tactics such as immediately calling back after consumers hung up on them, and sometimes used racial slurs and profanity. According to the complaint, in some instances, front-line supervisors and mid-level managers either participated or were aware of such practices under their supervision but failed to impose sufficient discipline.

- in the usaThey are scum. They will call whoever they can get ahold of and don't care. They are NOT allowed to discuss anything to anyone other then the person they are trying to get intouch with but then again, they don't car. Send them a Disbute letter and also put in it that they MUST contact you in writing. If they continue to call they are in violation and you can sue them.

THEY ACKNOWLEDGE THAT THEY ARE A DEBT COLLECTOR TRYING TO COLLECT A DEBT AND THAT THEY ARE "LTD FINANCIAL" BUT THEY NEVER ASK FOR A PARTICULAR PERSON OR SAY WHO THE DEBT IS FOR. I'VE NEVER HEARD OF THEM OR EVEN KNOW WHAT THEY ARE CALLING ABOUT. BUT THEY CALL A LOT! AT LEAST ONCE A DAY! AND OUR NUMBER IS PRIVATE UNLISTED, SO I DON'T KNOW WHERE THEY GOT THE NUMBER FROM IN THE FIRST PLACE OR WHAT THEY WANT.
