    no longer collecting debt...
as someone who worked in collections and conducted skiptracing to find people, I can tell you that it is common practice for collections agents to obtain a copy of your credit report, the phone numbers of your neighbors (who lets face it 75% of the time are nosy and love to here about other peoples problems), and to pay companies to obtain copies of your phone bills, the phone bills of people you have listed as references, and even your family members in an attempt to locate a number you might be reached at. These companies will use your credit report to contact other companies you may owe money and even pay them for any current information you may have on your account. These behaviors were common practice at the last company I worked for, which primarily bought outstanding loans and charge offs.

Furthermore never assume that those calling to collect a debt pay their bills in a timely manner. Collection agents gets calls at work from collectors wanting their money. I have worked with people who have had their cars repossesed from the parking lot!!!

It is considered harassment if a collection agency calls your home and leaves a message more than once a week. It is considered harassment if a collection agant calls you home more than once a week if you have had a conversation with the agent, whether the conversation be two words F*ck off or have a nice day. It is considered harrasment if you inform the agent the person they are calling for does not live at the number they have called, and that agent continues to call. When this occurs contact your PHONE COMPANY and file a complaint and let them handle the situation from then.

Sylvia Washington did not say who she was with. She left a message stating that she wanted to speak to (My Company Name) and/or the property owner about a breach of contract that has been filed with their office as well as a request for a liability investigation. And would like to take a verbal statement from me to get this taken care of on a voluntary basis. Talk about making it sound like I'm going to jail. I'm glad I decided to investigate their number. I'm glad it's just a CC bill.

A "Mr. Mozee" (give me a break with that name!  Power trippin much?) called me at work about a Citibank Mastercard debt that I have not paid.  I know its out there but I have fallen on hard times these past few months and have not had the money.  I let Mr Mozee know that I simply don't have the money right now and will pay directly to Citibank when I get the funds.  He didn't like that too much.  He wanted to know when I could pay 1200 bucks.  Hello!  Mr. Mozee, I will pay it when I get it, to Citibank, not you, because I know all you care about is your commissions check!

    Wasting my Time
Have been constantly calling, then leaving messages, then personally calling.  I am NOT the person they are calling for.  Spoke to someone who tried to tell me I should be careful someone is giving out my number!  Wow, thanks buddy.  He said they would take me off the list.  Still calling.  Today I left a voice mail for them, very stern to say the least.  We shall see if that helps.  Found their web address for those who care.

I'm a loaner officer and even though you have a charge off don't believe everything you hear. You still can get loans with charge offs. So blow the collection agencies off because in reality, the loan is paid as far as the bank is concerned. The collector is trying to collect to make money, they can't do anything to you. And when they do collect they do not give any of it to the original lender. So yes you are clean

They keep calling me on my pepaid cell phone. Its a prepaid.  At first they wouldnt leave messages.  Then they called my boss and almost got me fired. Over 2 years later, I get one voicemail a month that says I need to call because a very important matter will be decided against me if I dont call them.  Other than that no voicemails at all.  They call my parents and they play games with them.  I tried telling them to stop calling me.  They refuse, I've written the letter, they send me info on accounts I have already paid off over 5 years ago.  I have paid all my debts off myself, a very hard task to do.  I have been debt free for all this time and wtf?  They send me info on these "bad accounts" and the original companies tell them to stop and they refuse.

By the way, I have found that you can pay those so called "bad accounts" to the original creditor and save yourself the collection fee.  They dont like it because they have to pay the cedit agency back but it helps you.

This company is LTD Financial based in Houston, Texas with an office in San Antonio. They are a giant collection agency, using every technique in the book for skip tracing, and nailing your ass to the wall.

Give them an inch and you have lost the battle. They can only win with your co-operation. Their purpose is to scare the [***] out of you along with all your money!

The company is LTD Financial, and they must have bought up U.S. Bank's debt files.  They're trying to collect on a NSF at a checking account we closed in 2003!!!!!

Also, they're calling on a small loan that was part of a settlement in 2005.  I told them we have a release from U.S. Bank and they wanted a copy.  I said I wasn't going to dig it up, but for them to send me my origianl note which I know was another bank bought out by another bank that was bought out by U.S. Bank.

    Doubt they could find it.

Got called by these guys today, the man was rude and had a threatening tone. They were trying to reach my brother, for reasons unknown. The person did not tell me what his business was after being asked repeatedly, did not name his company after being asked repeatedly, only told me his name and this number. He said his name was "Monte" at 800-741-2100 ext. 2618
