Why are you telling them to be an adult & that its people like him who make the interest rate so high?/ All actuality its the people like you and me & him,. America is kinda" bad about taking money in which we cant promise to have within a certain time frame. None of us not even the government would be in a debt boat if we had just said "NO" accepting luxery items. Your just as much of the problem as them ppl, Im just glad that guy can stick up for himself. It never does any good answering the phone anyways I dont like waisten my breath & that is what we do when they ask the same ?'s over again never recording them.

Tell me what can be done...I have exhausted all Federal Agencies, the BBB, the company itself, requested Arbitration,  was denied.
I have a debt with Chase Auto Bank in which I had to self repo a vehicle.  While trying to make a repayment plan Chase Bank during the interim went into my mother's Chase Savings account and took all of her savings which was about $1900 dollars.  Being that I was listed on her account as a joint account holder my only position on the account was as a Representative on the account.  In other words I had no active participation other  than overseeing the account, paying her bills and making sure she balanced out as she is elderly with diminished capacity.  There rules were strictly written in that what is called a "SETOFF"...if you owe money to a Bank, say with a loan and you have a savings account then they can go into your savings and take their payment. But my mother had no interest in the Car or the loan period. Now under SetOff it states "If a person's who has a joint account and whose only function on that joint account is as acting in a representative capacity, like I was, then the Bank can not use SETOFF to collect funds to pay a debt that the joint account holder may have with the original holder of the account.  Now this was my scenario that took place, I never used the account of my mother to actively use any of my money through the account, if I made a deposit I did it with her signature, if a withdrawal was made I did it with her signature not mine, in fact, I did not at any time sign my name on any documentation on her savings account, basically it set dormant with some deposits being transfered from her checking into her savings via the computer.  When Chase found the account they stated to me verbatim, "We know this is not your account and we know this is your mother's but we don't care"...they stated that to an elderly lady who is dying of cancer and who is on a fixed income.  As a side note I have paid my mother back the money they took but it still drives me to no end of how they did it as it would any normal red blooded American who is up against a Corporate Giant with no respect or dignity to their account holders.  I have tried all remedies but all the Federal Agencies did was to shift the letters to Chase for an answer, now all they did was give them an ok with a wink and a nod to answer how they want without any oversight even though the Rules are governed by the Code of Federal Regulations and that is Law..so they broke the Law.  I don't know what to do as the year for filing a suit will be here in October.  Does anyone know of an attorney who may be willing to take a case like this.  There should be compensation for pain and suffering and mental anguish..any ideas????

Don't waste time looking for an attorney - contact your local law enforcement.  They aren't armed with a subpoena, you don't know them and therefore don't have permission to be on your property.  Call the police and report them for criminal trespass.

If you have caller ID with your phone service, simply *77 immediately after they hang up.  This blocks the caller until they provide identification.  Of course, they may go out and buy another prepaid trac phone and phone card to get another phone number to try again with, but if you've got caller ID, it's not costing you a penny to block them while they are having to invest anywhere between $25 and $55 per 'new' phone number.  Eventually, you're bound to win.  Especially if the rates for phone cards go up.

I see this over and over again.  These bozos call to make demands and that's it - no demand letter, no proof of debt from whoever it was that they got the credit file from.  Know this:  if all their business is on the phone, they don't have squat.  A big red flag is the absence of an actual physical address for these bozos.  If they had legitimate business with you (i.e., they had a *real* credit file with *real* information on it such as the original creditor, credit number, amount, date of last activity) they would waste no time sending a DEMAND LETTER to you.  Especially important is the proof of debt, something that (should) come with the debt file explaining the particulars of the debt.  Without the demand letter and ESPECIALLY proof of debt from the previous owner of the profile, these guys don't have crap.  That's it.  CRAP, oh, and, of course, their vintage collection of trac phones and barely used phone card numbers.

These Punks came to my house too. I caught a repo guy checking out the vin number of my truck and writing down the license plate number on my security camera at 5:30 AM. Problem is I own my truck outright Title in hand so they are looking to scare people into paying off old debt from over 10 years ago. You can buy this old charged off collection debt for $.01 to $.05 on the dollar and then see if you can harass someone to pay you some $$$ on it. Its a Scumbag Business!!! & Before you say its guys like me who dont pay there bills that run up interest rates and any other high horse Sh** like that ask the person that works at the collection agent for 7 Bucks an hour plus commissions and spiffs what there credit is like? Talk about a Glass house! I think if you could pull credit on these people who call to collect debt from people who are behind for whatever reason they fell into trouble you would find that 90+% have ridiculously bad credit and the balance have none! Here's what I like about my job. I don't spend my time harassing people for money they don't have or make a living making others lives miserables. This allows me to sleep Very well at night. Am I saying it takes a Scumbag to work in collections? YES I AM! Sleep well Scumbag!

LTD finances sent me a letter to start a pay plan which I was willing to do but I needed the start date to extend by two days.  The woman at LTD said she could not change the start date by two days but in 30 days a new pay plan would be sent with interest added and payments would increase by. 50 dollars.  I am now receiving phone calls to call and settle my file.  I suppose I will call and see if the. New LTD rep Diane Simms is willing to work with me on a payment plan

what a bunch of human garbage! these people knowingly harass people who they have been told over and over again to stop calling! The person you are looking for no longer has this number. I suggest contacting the states attorney in their state and the one in your state and file a complaint. I am. They also use local numbers to harass people also. I blocked all the numbers they use, and now they use unknown number unknown name robot dialers  This is more of the same criminal activity that they have been fined and sanctioned for in the past. Time for some arrests!
