You should call the number back and see if the call was for you or someone else in you household if you dont have a capital one account then its probably not for you but until some speak with a rep or the problem that they are calling on is resolved the calls normally will cont

If you a problem entering in you account and ssn then you need to push star instead. They ask for all this information so when you do get to a person all your information is already up and just have to verf little things. And they wouldnt call you for no reason you should check you capital one accounts because you probably have a PAST DUE OR OVERLIMIT ACCT! To avoid all of this you should pay your bills on time then you wouldnt rec any collection calls.

I got a new cell phone number three months ago and inherited these same phone calls mentioned on this page.  I've spoken to customer service reps, supervisors, managers, etc with Capitol One, they always assure me the problem will be taken care of.  They obviously don't care about our problem, because it has not been resolved.  The last person I spoke to actually sounded intelligent and the calls stopped for a week.  Then today from 8am to right now 12:15pm they have called four times.

I do not own a Capitol One credit card and they clearly ask for Robert Ellis(not me of course).  If anyone knows this guy, please tell him to pay his bills! lol

I have received calls from this number for months now. i have told them to repeatedly stop and they dont.  I am planning on filing a lawsuit against whoever this is and suing them for harassment phone calls and reporting them to the better business bureau in North Carolina.  There are laws that protect all of us against these repeated phone calls in each of your states, feel free to do the same! good luck everyone!

I've been receiving these calls every morning at around 8 a.m.  If you don't get to the phone in time, they leave no message.  I don't answer toll free numbers with no description.  Today, I had had enough.  I called the number back and got Capital One.  It sounded legit, but all they wanted to do was collect the 2 week past due minimum payment.  I explained to the account rep that I didn't appreciate these calls and no messages left and told her that we didn't appreciate being called that early even on the weekends. I also told her that the payment would be electronically sent on this Friday since it was already scheduled.  I don't know what else to do other than file a grievance.  Any suggestions?  I'm considering a boat horn to answer the next time.

Yes i get about 6 calls a day as early as 8 and late as 930. Its ridiculous. They occasionally leave a message but the BS around on the voicemail so long they dont even get to leave a whole message. The last one the left on voice mail said by staying on the line you acknowledge you are this person. What the heck how is the voice mail supposed to know to hang up early?

Yeah, this number is annoying as I've already gotten calls 3 times a day.  Everytime I try to get some details about the caller, I get hung up.  This has got to stop.

They've been calling me too. I get calls at least 3 times a day (although I"m usually not home) on my landline. They always ask for Owen the couple times I've answered. Wrong number. I don't think Capital One would ask for such personal information over the phone.

The computer is actually calling you and then it connects you to a rep so when its leaving messages on your voicemail it not realizing its a voicemail I guess it thinks it you. And you shouldnt be getting calls at 930 because we only call from 8am to 9pm your time zone. You should try calling the number back because you or some that is using your number has a past due or overlimit account and to avoid collection calls some kind of arrangements need to be set up

Well since you called us back and told us that you were doing an electronic payment you shouldnt get any call backs if we recieve the payment by the day that you told us and if it that day was within the two weeks we can set arrangements for.

We have been having an issue with wrong numbers and them not deleting out as soon as we check that its wrong number so we have brought to our attention of our tech support and they are actually trying to resolve the issue right away. Sorry for any inconvience we might of caused...

We are in the process of updating our systems so that as soon as you state that its the wrong number it will delete out for some reason we have been having an issue with this situation but its getting resolved. Sorry for any inconvience we might have caused. Another tip is to let us know that we have wrong # because sometimes people tell us there not there and we assume they are out at current time and will return.

That's [***], you're lying. I've received 10 calls from Capital One in the last 3 days. You are calling and asking for someone that apparently had my number before me. I repeatedly told you, wrong number, to no avail.
I just called you today, and asked you to stop calling me, and was promised that my number was deleted from your harassment list. Well, after 3 hours I received 2 more calls. I just filed a complaint with the national do not call list, because I'm registered.  I'm going to record your calls each time you call me, and then I'll sue you. You are calling my cell phone number and I have to pay every time you call to harass me. What's next? You'll come to my door and ask if I'm that person that had my cell number before me.

This is getting ridiculous. I keep getting calls from this number at all times of the day. And my number is on the DoNotCall registry. I am going to lodge a complaint against this harrassment. I do not have a Capital One card and there is no logical reason for a "Cap One collections agency" to call me.
