Thanks for the posts.  I do not have Capital One, but being retired, it is DAMN annoying to get a cal at 6:10am.

Just got a call from this number. Googled it as it was ringing, as I don’t typically answer numbers I don’t recognize. Google said it was Capital One, and since I had just paid my bill about 5 minutes prior through their app, I wondered if something was wrong. When I answered a man with a very thick Indian accent told me that he was calling from my credit card, but didn’t say “Capital One”…I instantly realized it was a scam. He continued on with a story that due to my Experian credit report, and the fact I always pay more than the minimum, they’d be lowering my interest rate to 6%. He then asked me what my balance was on that card. I told him I didn’t know, which was a lie. He asked me to make a rough guess…1K? 2K? 3K?…I told him I always pay my cards off monthly. He reiterated what I said word for word then told me to have a blessed day. Coincidences are weird. I never would’ve answered this if I hadn’t just paid my Capital One, minutes prior. He could tell he wasn’t getting anywhere. I just hope they don’t call me back.

Left no voice mail.

All calls to various Capitol One phone numbers want a credit card # of SSN. I do not have the first and don't plan to give them my SSN.

Scam.

Received a call from this number and blocked it. I'm not answering a phone number with a long list of being a scam.

More scammers pretending to be capital one; I am not even their customer and they called me about "suspicious transactions". The number is really Capital One, but they have obviously been spoofed.
