Obvious scam.  They called on a landline whose number has never been given out to anyone.  We have a Capital One credit card but the phone number they have is not this one.

Scam, they will take your information and take your money. These people are criminals !!!

I know this is a scam.  I want to stop them from calling me.

My husband and I have not had debt since 2004, they called a landline owned by ME before my husband & I got married in 2002. We have NUMEROUS times sent requests to federal/state do not call registries but yet I get this one From Caller ID CPTL 1 FNC CRP 1-800-955-7070 :-(:-(:-(.

Could not get to the phone, and they left no message.  Nobody in this house has a Capital One card, anyway.  Blocked.

I just read that this is number is a third parth by capital nine . Is that not misleading to us as a customer And I have 3 cards with them . Ashley fraud happens all the time.

This number called my cell phone but left no message. I understand from reading the comments here that it's Capital One. I have no relationship with them and blocked their number.

Your call may or may not be Capital One. I got a direct call today, not even a robo intro, offering me a lower interest rate. They are SPOOFING this number from an Indian call center. The man claimed to be from Cardmember services who, in conjunction wit Experian, has decided to lower my interest rate to close to zero because I have paid more than the minimum for 6 months. I LOVE playing with these idiots. I have fake cards that will pass the Luhn last digit test. You can get them off of the internet if you want to mess with them. Just be aware that when they put you on hold to check your records that are trying to charge something. When the card is rejected you may hear some awful nasty words. They will hang up on you if you ask too many questions like why your bank isn’t calling or why Experian has been giving your info to them or why Experian is monitoring you. Take up as much time as possible. Word will get around not to call you. I seldom get the calls any more and I used to get several a day.

I missed the call, no message was left.  Per messages above it's Capital One?  I don't have a Capital account (of any kind.  So even if it was Capital One, then they violated the Do Not Call laws.  I believe it's a scam attempt , whether it's Capital One or not.

I don't think it's Capital One. They might be spoofing the #. I called back for an automated system that sounded similar to Capital One but not quite. 99% chance of SCAM

Answered the call and it was a guy saying he was with card member services,  I said card member services for who? He replied he was with capital one wells Fargo calling to reduce my rates on my credit card balance.  I said I don't have any credit cards.  He replied why not? I said why are you calling trying to scam me and he hung up.   DO NOT GIVE THEM YOUR INFO.  ALWAYS CALL THE NUMBER ON YOUR STATEMENT OR BACK OF CARD.

They called I answered said hello, they hung up. Looked up number, internet showed it as Capital One but it's prob a scam. Above number in caller I D there were other numbers starting with a V then a bunch of numbers. ?
