- AS| 8 repliesClaimed to be calling about fraud prevention on a Chase credit card. Wanted me to confirm my information (account number, address, etc.)
I asked them to read me the information they had on file for me and I would confirm whether it was correct or not. They said they were not allowed to do this, and that I had to give them my account number, address etc. I didn't. - ASClaimed to be calling about fraud prevention on a Chase credit card. I called a friend who works for Chase and she did not notice any fraudelent information. I recommend not giving any info and do the smart thing and contact the number listed on your card, bank, etc. tied with the supposed fraud!
- ditch13same thing happened to me, but i didn't want to tell them anything so they left the 800-955-9060 # to me. However, they are calling from a number 224-222-5000. I then called the number that's on the back of my chase credit card, spoke to a CSR about the situation, and he told me that phone call is valid. Then what he did it to transfer me directly to their security dept and finished setting up the acct by answering few questions.
so i guess if it is suspicious, don't answer anything, but call back the number that u know of your bank, just to be safe. - beltramieI got the same call yesterday, and while it did turn out to be legitimate, I still called the main # for my credit card first and have them transfer me. I think this is just a good way of insuring that the caller is actually who they say they are.

- JillianneHad received a message at my work number (not my primary #). Double checked this list and decided to return the call. Chase Fraud was concern because they saw $2,000.00 worth of electronics being charged to my card. My nephew was building his graduation computer.

- Hate cold calls replies to DE| 1 replyI just received a call from the number too. Why is the recording on the 800-955-9060 different from the Chase normal number. I became nervous when the mystery number asked me for my entire account number, but the Chase number on the back of my card only asks for the last four digits. What gives? If someone from Chase is reading this, instruct people to call the number on the back of their card, then press a # to speak to Fraud Department.
- william| 3 repliesMy parents were called and asked to relay the msg to me. I also received a msg on my cell phone. I called and they were asking about my govt travel card which is a VISA, but this was saying it was a mastercard. I realize now I gave her a ton of information I should not have over the phone...I gave her social verfied detailes etc....so now what do I do? Who do I call, who do I report? I am so worried now...any advice? Since I just got my govt card (new to military) I was wondering why there would be charges since I've never used it. A few hours later I got worried and googled the number and found this post. Can anyone offer advice? I am so worried...

- number is legit, but be carefulI just got a call from that number also. It made me nervous so I called the number on the back of my card and they told me the 955-9060 number is one of the numbers that Chase fraud department uses. I'd be safe and call the number you know is accurate on the back of your card. Someone tried to spend about $10k on my card...
- not_getting_scammed| 4 repliesThis number is a scam. Chase knows nothing about it. Don't answer their questions. Whoever is posting that it is legitimate on this page is lying and is in on the scam.
- Tyler @ Tempe, AZ replies to DE| 11 repliesI work DIRECTLY for JPMorgan Chase which services, United, Southwest, AARP, Disney and other misc cards. This IS our fraud inbound number which will route you to either Tempe, AZ, Elgin, IL, Or MANILA, Philipenes (sp?). We do have multiple callback numbers and are proactivly working on the prompt to change the opening quote from, "Please type your acct #" to something a bit less intimadating. If you get a call from 18009559060, and do not feel comfortable, PLEASE find your chase card (whatever the brand) and call the 1800 Customer Svc number. THIS NUMBER IS *NOT* A SCAM!! Simply an early warning system to mitigate fraud. FYI Chase is CLOSING AND OUTSOURCING my job (fraud risk anylist) over to the Phillipenes. PLEASE CALL OR WITE CHASE AND ASK FOR THE JOBS TO BE KEPT IN THE US! I know i dont want to give my ssn, or dob 1/2 way around the globe, and believe americans need the jobs!
- Tyler replies to not_getting_scammedYou, are wrong plain and simple
- EdJust got a call, got worried so I didn't give info and asked for a number to call back, they gave me the 955-9060 number. I instead called the number on the back of my new Chase card (which wasn't even activated yet) and got sent right to the fraud department. The women confirmed 955-9060 is a Chase number and that the fraud department was indeed trying to contact me to verify a balance transfer I used to open the account. Seems legit to me but I would always caution against giving info to someone who calls you, it's always better to hang up and call the number on your card.

- jonWhen I called this number back, it was really weird, and unprofessional. I really got of the phone and wondered if I had just been scammed because I dont even have a Chase Card. But, from what it looks like, Chase just needs to teach the ppl from this number to be more professional on the phone.
- jmoney| 2 repliesMan the people at 955-9060 are freaky unprofessional! I was sure that I was being scammed and even called them back to confront them. They asked for my social security number, etc. I couldn't believe that some guy named Kevin was really a Chase rep. He was as confusing and unprofessional as a tweaker scammer would be. Thank god though because it made me panic - thinking they were after my info, so I checked out recent inquires on my credit report... sure enough, someone had opened a Chase card in my name and had made charges to it. Chase did not figure this out, by the way. I did. They just scared the hell out of me with their crappy "fraud" dept. call and I ended up saving my own ass.

- RickI just received a call from 800-955-9060. I called the number on the back of my chase card after finding this page.
But it was legit - they transferred over - was just looking to verify some activity.
By all means - call the number on the back of the card. I work as an auditor for financial institutions. They would much prefer you go the safe route and call the number on the card.- Caller: Chase Fraud Department

- HLI got a call from 800-278-8830 at home and from 224-222-5000 on my cell. I called the number on the back of my card instead and they connected me to their fraud dept.
These are legitimate phone numbers from Chase, but use the number on your card if you want to be safe. They wanted to verify that I applied for another one of their cards.- Call type: Unwanted
- Deb of North CarolinaGot a call at work which was strange in and of itself to return a call to 1-800-955-9060 and it was a gentleman with a very thick accent. I called the number back and was told to enter my entire cc number with no further instructions. I did not do it. I called the number on the back of my card. They pulled up my account and questioned some activity from an internet purchase. Just trust your instincts. It turned out okay but it pays to be careful.
