My husband & I both got calls from this number on our cell phones. Same message that they were calling from Chase about possible fraudulent use of our card. They gave last 4 numbers on card & asked us to call back. We were to have our cards available when we returned the call. We didn’t fall for this either.

Do not answer or give this person any information. Completely fraudulent. I repeat, do NOT answer this call or give this person any information!!

800-955-9060  is legitimate phone number for chase    Received a call verifying that I had applied  for chase card   They asked a lot of questions   Went online and many are saying it’s a scam number  so I looked up chase number online myself called them they verified they called me  it was not the same number that called me  but they told me they have many different numbers they use    They’re being careful to make sure someone else isn’t applying using my name

You are absolutely correct that this number is listed for Chase fraud protection.  However, it's a good idea to phone the number on the back of your card if you should get one of these messages.  Numbers can be spoofed and legitimate businesses are not immune.  For example, the numbers to local social security offices are often spoofed by scammers supposedly because they believe you are more likely to give them information if you determine the number to be legitimate.  Just because the number legitimately belongs to chase, doesn't mean the call came from Chase.  It's sad but in this day of data breaches and global scamming, you can't be too careful.  Stay safe.

Both card users got a call from this number. It did leave a message with another number to call back. I called chase directly via the number on the back of my card. There were suspicious charges and they had to cancel our cards. So, I think this is legitimate. They may just have multiple numbers for different departments? I definitely called the number on the back of my card, so.......

Just a note to those who say they checked their account and didn't see suspicious charges, and are therefore calling this number SPAM/SCAM...
Chase blocks/declines the suspicious charges and you will not see them online. THAT is why you cannot rely on that. I indeed had suspicious charges that they blocked, and when I spoke with them we had 2 more that we labeled suspicious and were not allowed through.

Yes, be vigilant but not short-sighted. Call the number on the back of your card and speak with Chase directly.. don't call the numbers they leave just in case. But this is legit.

I hope this message is a joke.... this sounds completely suspicious and they will never ask you for your bank account information and balances for verification purposes!

Yes it is a scam. The scammers are spoofing a legitimate number to make them look legitimate.

This is one number off  from the actual Chase Fraud Line. The actual number is 800-955-9050.

This is a real Chase number, but scammers spoof it to appear legit!

The only case Chase uses this number is in their fraud department. Sometimes for verification while talking to them after you personally dial in, they'll ask to call you back on your number in the next minute. In that case it's legit and it is this number. So basically if you aren't expecting a call it's probably a scam, but Chase does also use this number (which is probably why the scammers use it).

In general just assume everything is fake unless you initiated the conversation!

They left a message on my work phone for the wrong person about a credit card I don't have. I suspect this is a scam.

After reading some of these comments I called the number on the back of my credit card and they said that they were NOT trying to contact me about my card.
