Called Verizon and they PROMISED me that if I replied STOP, in all caps... lol.... that it will stop and I WILL NOT receive a 25 cent charge, however she also said she made a note/credit to the account.... hm.... maybe an easy fix, i hope!!!

this spammer calls me in 2 messages each time. I never answer them because verizon puts up a notice on the screen that there may be a charge so I don't acknowledge them in any fashion. I just counted ten numbers backwards from the 9 and went to veriizon online and blocked the number. I've done it before and the block works.

I would like to start by stating that I will be more than happy to sign petition if there is one out there! Otherwise, say hello to another class action suit Verizon!

    My story~
I have been subject to these annoying international OZMAIL text messages since 2009 when I upgraded to Verizon's LG enV Touch, which is considered a data phone since you may access your emails via the internet. Upon activating my new data phone, I started receiving a pair of texts almost immediately all hours of the day, which were unsolicited...like rats. I complained to VZW in 2009 and they recommended I reply to the sender, STOP. I did but the texts continued and I got annoyed but luckily I did not incur charges unless Verizon took care of them on their end. End result: Despite efforts to stop texts, they continued sending.

Fast forward 4 years: A couple of days ago, I upgraded to the Samsung Galaxy and the texts no longer came in pairs but single texts increased frequency. Since Saturday, I have received at total of 41 texts in 2 days!!! 16 texts on Day 1 and 25 texts on Day 2. I have not received any texts since I replied 'STOP' but I also contacted VZW to see if they can somehow block this number, which was an endless feat a few years ago because the incoming texts had more than 10 digits. The blocking feature can only block 10 digits so the rep 'Diana' dropped the 11 proceeding the number. I remember when I was troubleshooting with a VZW rep in 2009, they told me that the text originates from Amsterdam and there was nothing they can do because it is out of their jurisdiction. I HOPE THIS ANNOYING TEXTING HAS FINALLY COME TO AN END BC NOT ONLY DOES IT FILL UP MY MESSAGES BUT IT'S ANNOYING!!!

My assumption: the sender (Verizon or some other company/person) may be sending these messages from an email client which allows him to camouflage where the messages are coming from...similar to SPAMMING.

If I continue to receive the texts, I WILL START A CLASS ACTION SUIT!!! Stay tuned.
