- Emerald replies to SEPT2010Whenever I receive a text from Verizon, it clearly shows that it is FROM Verizon. I wonder if you talked to a new employee< who was not well informed yet.

- LaLaJust talked to Verizon and this is associated with an app used on older phones called "Mobile Email". I changed to the Droid from an EnVTouch yesterday and the texts started again. When I receive an email on any of my email accounts (that I had set up on the older phone), I get this text. They come through even though I have this number listed on my call and message blocking.
Apparently the "Mobile Email" service was not properly and completely removed from my account. They said they totally removed it and I hope to no longer get these texts.
I love Verizon. Top notch customer service.
Hope this can help someone :)

- BetsyI received a set of text messages from this number today. I am tech savvy and understand the mobile e-mail being translated into text messages and that makes sense for the people who have switched.
HOWEVER
I have had my EnV Touch for over a year now. I have used "Mobile Email" on this device for the entirety of the year. I did not previously have data (or Email) on my account (as of right now, I only have the 25 MB/Month service) until I got the EnV Touch a year ago.
I got this text message in addition to getting the usual Mobile Email notification. Why am I getting these messages?
I am suspicious as to if they are coming from Verizon because Verizon to Verizon is unlimited message length so it SHOULD NOT have to split it into two messages.
I did not reply "STOP" to the number because previous posters said it failed to cease the texts and it cost them $0.25 every time they requested. I went online and added the number to the 90-day block list.
I do, however, believe that this blows holes in many people's (Including the Verizon Tech Support poster above (sorry no offence meant)) theories as to why these messages are being sent.
Hope this lends itself to an answer or that someone can help me!
Betsy - Nikki336 replies to vzw helper| 1 replyVerizon doesn't accept this number to block, its only allows 10 digit numbers to block. Any solutions yet? Lucky me received my first text today.....Verizon needs to make it stop. Take care of your customers Verizon, we have other options too.
- Jennifer KleinPlease stop this number from sending me unwanted text messages. I am receiving messages at all times of the day and evening.

- Jim replies to IceManFinally got rid of the problem. Went onto Yahoo and changed "Notifications" so that Yahoo does not contact my cell number to tell me when a message comes in. Just deleted the phone number. If you notice, many times the text came in at the same time as another call or message.
- Jim replies to options330If you asked your email provider in the past to contact your phone to notify your phone for texts or emails, find "Notifications" on your email tools/options and delete your phone number. With a "Smartphone" it is not necessary to notify you when you get an email, since you already got the email/text. Just delete your phone number from Yahoo/Google/Whatever. If you notice, you get those annoying messages many times at the same time you receive messages and even phone calls.

- kap replies to droid r2 d2It is a part of email service. If texting stop does not work, if you call verizon tech support, they will block the texts from that number.
- BrianI went to Verizon a few weeks ago to get a new iPhone... and the employee took both my old & new phones to transfer everything over cuz the iphone doesn't use the verizon backup... when he brought them back, there was a weird looking message on my message screen on the new iphone... I asked what it was... he mumbled something about "something to do with the activation" and HE erased it so. I remember it was an 801 number, I saw that much before he erased it.
NOW I get my bill, and see I was charged for an int'l text TO that number, the 801-222-2269-... NOT FROM... and it was sent WHILE HE HAD MY PHONE, doing the transfer!! So a Verizon employee SENT this text... NOT ME!
Everyone should check their bills... make sure none of these texts to this number were ever OUTGOING... did YOUR phone ever text THEM?? I thought it was incoming at first... then I checked, it was outgoing FROM my phone TO them. Maybe a Verizon employee, or other phone company employee did it to you too! Maybe they get kickbacks or something.
So not only are they charging international for a UTAH number... but a Verizon employee is the one that sent the text?? That's a real problem for me... what did he send them?? All my contacts?? Other personal info?? That is a problem for me wondering what he did & why!!!
I'm calling them tomorrow to speak to a manager and demand they remove the charge and make them ask that employee what the heck he was doing with my phone, what he sent to these people!!- Caller: Unkown
- ENS replies to MaxThis is what you do.. call Verizon and tell them to use the OZ cust care tool. Inside this tool they can search your phone number, and disable the notification system.
- 1-180-122-22269Verizon or Verizon client trying to get charges made...it is an international number. Unsolicited by me. That is for sure...and everyone else here.. REPORT THIS NUMBER TO POLICE AND ONLINE SPAM@UCE.GOV..

- marti valdezI am receiving at least 10 text messages per day on my new droid cell phone. My telephone number is on the "no call list." - LindsayI too have been receiving these texts from this number. I just upgrade from an EnV Touch to my first smartphone, a Droid 3. I did have Mobile Email on my previous phone, so I am hoping Verizon Tech Support can fix this! It started about 2 hours after my new phone was activated. I have text back twice, so hopefully I am not incurring any charges for texts!!!
- Vicki StottsThis has continued since I activated my Droid 2
- SharFile a form 1088G with the FCC. You can find it on-line. I tried the "reply with Stop" method with no luck so I called my subscriber who said the messages would be blocked, but they continued. Since filing a form 1088G I have not received any more messages so I hope the problem is solved permanently.
