i just got a new driod 2 today after having an Envy 2 for the last two years.  Almost imediately i started getting random txt from 118012222269 and it would say a bunch of computer coding and then reply with stop to this number (charges may apply) i did my homework and after calling VZW tech line 3 times i finally convinced a rep that i wasnt crazy and showed her this site and a thread on VZW's site about this very number. she turned off all the notifications so hopefully that works

3) You can block up to 5#'s up to 2 months...again FREE!!!

You have to ignore the 1-1 at the beginning of the phone...only enter
801-222-2269----> this is their true phone# because their trying to be sneaking by adding two additional digits in front......TRUST ME THIS WORKS....NO MORE 50+ texts from these idiots!!!!!

Just go to your VZW account and under the picture of your phone is a link to blocking unwanted calls and texts. It is a VERY easy step by step process. You may block up to five numbers for three months at a time.

I blocked the texts by putting in 801-222-2269. Do not bother with anything that comes before the 801. anything prior to the 801 area code is just an attempt to stop you from blocking the numer.

It worked for me.

I switched to an LG ENV a year ago, but didn't have email or messaging on the other phone. I began recieiving the txts back in June of this year and have replied "Stop" to everyone of them. I do not and never have even set up or opened the Verizon email account on the phone or computer. I don't know what Verizon is letting someone else get by with, but Verizon is walking a fine line. I only switched to Verizon when they bought Unicel. Unicel had reception where no other carrier did, but I guess Verizon threw the towers away after they bought them. Now, they let me have enough reception to get these text messages they are making money off of. Contract or not. THEY are not holding up their end of the contract.

It just happened to me. It shows up as internatinal text which you can argue that it's not since 801 area code comes up as Utah. I'll try that calling 611 tomorrow to take care of it.

You are correct but you have to tell VZW to disable the notifications because most dont have a clue whats going on. Made one call and they stopped.   When she called me back after an hour she went to Google and looked the number up and could and could not believe all the problems.

Did that work?  I am getting a text every 30 min from this number.   Just got a Droid.  I went and blocked the 801-222-2269 and I hope it works.

Make sure your number is on the National Do Not call List 888-382-1222 you can then file a complaint and legal action will be taken

I keep getting a set of 2 texts with no readable info.  This has been going on for months.

It seems kind of weird that all of us that have gotten this text use Verizon and yet Verizon can't help us. It is an international # so if you reply to it so that it will stop and it still continues you will be charged every time.

I keep getting a text message from this number, and im tired of it!! its every half hour!!!

I bought a new phone yesterday from Verizon and have received 15 texts from this number in 18 hours asking me to pay to stop the texts.

I have been receiving several text messages over the last 24 hours, since activating my new Droid 2 phone. Just like all the other comments. What a pain.
