These are called Premium Texts and you need to call Verizon to tell them to block them, so you won't get any "new" ones. To stop this one from coming, the Verizon rep advised me to reply text "STOP" and nothing else. They will waive any fees incurred and said this text will stop coming in!! Good Luck!

I had 2 text messages on my phone today...... one saying for a small onetime fee, but too stop charges all i had to do is reply!!!! I DON'T think so! I don't even know where this number is located!!!

Verizon helped me out by disconnecting my mobile email and I also changed my email password.  Ever since then I haven't gotten one text message.

I keep getting texts from 1-180-122-22269  i need to know how to get rid of them, i want to still keep my SMS

Just spoke to Verizon Customer Service and they're on it. They can block or restrict any number from access to their network which precludes this from happening, but the bloody liberals cry about freedom of speech restrictions. Slippery slope...

Stop sending messages on my cell phone.

Ive had the ENV2 for almost a year and have used the email via the phone for the same amount of time and have just now gotten the 1st two messages as described throughout this forum.  Knowing it was scam-ish I haven't responded but have put them on my text block on vzw website.

But is it wierd that Ive had my phone for almost a year (its a smartphone), Ive been using mobile email the whole time...and am just now receiving theses texts?? That doesnt coincide with the answers/solutions listed above...

I too have gotten 2 messages from 1-180-122-22269.  My cell phone is high enough without getting charged for bogus messages.  Has anyone found out to block this and it will stay blocked.

Oz mail is an email client that Verizon uses for its Mobile email application on feature and multimedia phones. If you downloaded mobile email and then went to a smart phone and did not delete mobile email, then you may recieve a strange looking msg about oz mail alerts/nofications. Verzon can stop oz mail alerts. Most reps don't know what oz mail is, because its not encountered very often. You will need to speak with tech support about it. Hope this helps.

Going to vzw.com and putting the number (without the first "11") seems to work for now.  I'll update if they still get htrough.

I got this text message marked urgent from 1-180-122-22269. The message came in two parts. Luckilly i only opened part 2 which only has 2 or 3 words. I deleted the first part which had gibberish for the subject matter. Deleted message without opening. 11/7/2010 at 8.00pm

I also received this unwanted spam text on 11/10/10.  from 1-180-122-22269.  I did not reply back because I knew that it would have charged me 25 cents.  Instead, I went to My Verizon and blocked texts from 801-222-2269.  It appears that the 11 at the begining of the number is a clever ruse by the spammer to prevent anyone from blocking using the My Verizon feature which requires only 10 digits.  I saw through this and blocked the number anyway.  

Verizon really needs to look into this.  You really should not be charging your customers 25 cents for replying back to these spam texts just to stop more of these texts from coming!  It just isn't right.  Please train and advise your customer support operators so that they become more familiar with this issue.  At the very least please direct them to this website: https://800notes.com/Phone.aspx/1-801-222-2269#commentForm  for more information on other customers who have subjected to this spammer.  Thank you for your thoughtful consideration.

Yes, me too. My husband thinks Verizon is hiring people to run up our text messaging and charge us more tore. Also to charge us to stop the messaging. We see another class action suit against Verizon coming.

These messages are from the mobile email client, it is a 3rd party client and will continue to send messages for a believe 10 days. If you want the messages to stop, contact Verizon and request that they unsubscribe you from the Mobile Email through their system. This will stop the messages. If you want to continue using Mobile Email on your phone you can reinstall the application on the new phone. If you've switched from a feature phone to a smartphone, this will not affect the email client that comes pre-installed on your smartphone.

Also, Verizon does not charge for incoming international calls/text messages, so you won't get charged for opening/reading the messages, only if you reply.
