Last year I had the Voyager and never had this problem.  I upgraded to a Blackberry and all of a sudden I started to receive these wierd text messages.  I switched back to the Voyager and the problem stopped.  I switched to the Sagsung Omnia early this month and started to have the same text- coming thru every 5-10 minutes!  I called Verizon thinking it was them and I only had two options: Cancel my text messaging capabilities or change my number!!
Every time I received a message, I replied "stop" or "unsubcribe".  
It finally stopped- but I just got my bill today and I am now being charged for 7 Int'l Text Messages!!!

I just got off the phone with Verizon...they could not see the text on their end when they reviewed my text messages.  They did set my account to block spam text messages....will post later if that does not help.  I get them like everyone else (2 at a time) every couple of weeks.

Verizon said they issued a trouble ticket to have it checked out.  We'll see :)  My hope is that the spam block will take care of the problem

Soon after I activated my Samsung Omnia w/ Verizon I started receiving these messages, apparently whenever I received a new hotmail message. I replied STOP 10 times before they finally did. It shouldn't take 10 TIMES! How could I know they were costing me 25 cents each? This is a total scam. It is obvious they kept coming in an attempt to get more money out of me with my STOP replies. If there's any talk of a class-action lawsuit, sign me up. This is ridiculous!

Had the same thing happen. Same number. OZMAIL. I called 611 from my cell phone and tech support took care of it by setting up a premium block. Additionally, she said she'd check my account in seven days to ensure there were no premium charges and that if I receive any more, to just reply with "STOP" and she'd remove any charges when she checks back in seven days. Not bad.

Verizon will block up to 5 numbers ata time for free. I just blocked these block-heads. Wouldn't you like to be alone with these guys in a dark room for about 5 minutes and dispense some justice? I would! It looks like they want to extort money from you to get them to stop texting you. I got 2 messages stating "1 of 2" and "2 of 2" the first said to "to stop these messages reply to"  and the second said "charges may apply"

I got the same problem and it cost me .50 cents because I believe I responded to it to stop coming in and they were consider intl text.

I just reactivated my phone and started receiving text messages from this number.  Verizon 611 was able to block the number, but only for 90 days!! That's BS!!! Does anyone know any other way to get in touch with these clowns???

Just spoke to a very helpful verizon rep.  It's a spamming service.  They have blocked the service from my phone.  It seems that the carrier will charge you twenty five cents when you reply to stop it. I didn't want to reply to stop it as I wasn't sure if it was one of these spam things where they charge you a hundred bucks.  Anyhow the rep had me reply to stop and they got rid of the twenty five cents.  A ticket has been put in for her to speak to the supervisor.

They are going to investigate it.  The rep said it was the first time she ever saw or heard of it.  So stay tuned. In the meantime you can go to vtext.com and when you log in there is a section on the left of the screen where you can manage spam and text.  Put that number in the block minus the 11 before the phone number.  They put that 11 to cleverly disguise the number so you can't block it. Bunch of scum bags. Probably constantly hitting people like that making tons of money.  A quarter a pop can add up with all the wireless users in the world.

Been recieving this text since the moment I activated my Black Berry.  Customer service said they couldnt do anything because its an international number.  Just sent a stop text in reply in hopes that they will stop after a couple of days.

I had to send the same text message and they have stopped for me w/my BB.  From what I understand it is the forwarding service used by VZW e-mail on non-smartphones.  If you had e-mail before and notifications set up for new e-mails you will continue to get these until you reply stop or reactivate your old phone, disable the notifications, and then reactivate your BB.  The text was considered an international text which cost me .25 cents, but it was well worth it for getting rid of the obscene annoyance.

i just got the ENV touch.. all of a sudden i got a txt like at 3 am, funny because i never give out my # for this specific reason. Anyway.. i got the txt, and i don't remember txting stop, but i must've cuz on my bill i was invoiced .25 cents for replying to this number. It said *high importance*.. something about a mortgage, i don't remember. anyway, i saw you guys asking about SPAM control, I ran into this option and I found not many people know about this. On the VZW website, there's an option to block certain #s from calling or texting you. It only allows for like 5 numbers, and the numbers expire after like a month or something, but in my experience, it's long enough to get them to stop calling. When they see they can't even get your vm, or doesn't show as sent, they stop trying. So you log into vzw.com, go to "My Services", on the left side, under "My Cell Phone", you'll see in RED "VERIZON SAFEGUARDS". Click on that, and it'll open the tab, right under "Parental Controls", you'll see "Spam Controls". Click on it, choose your line, and enter the phone number that txts or calls you. I just saw this: *Lines subscribed to Usage Controls can have up to 20 blocked number settings that don't expire, which are  managed from the Blocked Numbers page.*

So there you go. It's really cool... I tried blocking my house # just to see what happened, i called my cell, and i got a message, "verizon wireless.. this number has ____ so on and so on.. ". not sure exactly what it said, but i thought it was awesome.. and thought I'd share. My friend has a good friend that works for VZW, he didn't even know about the Spam Controls, so when i showed her, she was shocked he hadn't told her (she's been trying to block a crazy ex).. and he was shocked he didn't know. SO this is why i figured not many people knew about it.  :)

I just tried...the spam setting says you can only submit a 10 digit number.  The number that keeps texting me is:  1-180-122-22269 .

What now?  Please help...for the past 4 months I've incurred $7.25 because of these messages.  If I reply "stop"...it costs me money again!

Contious text messages from this oz mail place with the telephone number 18012222269. continues to come thru on my blackberry phone never had that problem before. I want it to stop because it is charging me 25 cents each time.

Try it again, but dont put the 11 at the beginning of the phone number, they'll use that to make you think you can't block it cause it has 12 numbers. Hope that works

I get this call all day and night, Can't get it to stop

I got 2 txts from this number yesterday (2nd was a continuation of the first txt).  I did not reply STOP, I just deleted them.  Then I went online and put a block on premium text msg.  I think the message tells you to txt STOP so they can verify they've found a working phone number.  I had nothing show up as a charge on my Verizon account online.  

Seems the best thing to do is not reply to this number at all, it's just some kind of phishing scam...
