Stop harassing me

Ok so I've been getting this text too!!! Verizon CAN NOT STOP IT!!!! I have been dealing with this for about 8 months, I want to switch to AT&T now, i'm so sick of this... They told me it was an international number and they can not block it or stop it...Either I have to switch my number or block all texts! Why is this my fault that VERIZON cannot fix a problem they started! I believe it's a way of getting more money out of you each month! I'm going to fight it to get out of my contract I HATE VERIZON!

I just received a new phone & didn't register for OZMAIL.  I don't even know what it is.  Based on my internet research, it is a way to scam $.50 out of 1000's of victims.

Did you switch from a regular cell to a smartphone? The first night I had my new phone I got about 10 test messages from this number. From what I gather from reading the threads to this post, its from your email on your previous phone. If you reply with "stop", it should fix the problem (at least it did with mine.) I checked my phone records and it does show up as an international text message. I just called verizon and told them that I had gotten several of these messages and was unaware that it was an international number (the number was a 10 digit number), and that I don't want to be charged. SHe noted my account and I shouldn't be billed for that text.

I called Verizon and got them to block the text messages.    We'll see if it works!

I got this too, just got off the phone with verizon, the cs rep didnt know anything and refused to help me out with it at all. Bunch of BS

Please STOP sending me these messages NOW!

It's from verizon i just got off the phone they said it is a generated call/text from their OZMAIL account. she removed my wifes number from this call list.

I recently switched to the LG Ally and started getting these text messages.  (My previous phone was not a smart phone.)  I called Verizon and he said to go online and block internet spam messages and something else.  I did that and I'm still getting them.  Of course the rep didn't even acknowledge they knew anything about these messages.

On my previous phone, because it wasn't a smart phone, I had hotmail set up to access my home email.  Based on what I'm hearing from everyone here, I'm going to see if there are some settings I can change to deactivate it or something.

I set up the mail feature on my phone (not gmail), but I think I was getting these even before I set that up.

If none of this works, I'm calling Verizon back.  If someone knows of a solution for the Ally, please let me know.

Ok, I think a solution has been found for this.  I called Verizon and spoke to two customer service reps.  Neither knew a thing about it and said the a "good" solution was to change my phone number.  Um - not happening, folks!  

I asked to be transfered to their tech support department.  After explaining what the text message I was receiving, something seemed to click in his head.  I told him that the text contained the words "brew" and "OzMail."  He said that told him what was probably happening.

Apparently, when I activated my new smart phone, Mobile Email was not properly disconnected.  The text messages are the Mobile Email trying to alert you to incoming messages.  The tech support guy ("Kirk") told me he looked into the phone's activity and saw Mobile Email still in there somehow.  The "OzMail" is something Verizon discontinued about 6 months ago, he said, and he blocked it for me.  I haven't gotten a single text message from this number since then.

My advice is to call tech support, explain some of these details to them and see if they can block it for you.  Also, if you have to activate a new smart phone, make sure Verizon helps you completely disconnect any and all current email notifications you have set up BEFORE you activate that new smart phone/black berry.

Yes, I got the same message and I got charged $.25 for an international text message.

i work for verizon and have had  this txt msg sent to me several times a day, even at 1am-2am .. it is really annoying and we have not found out what it is. We are working on it. Thanks for your patience!!!

I got the droid 2 a few days ago and seem to be having the same problem as all of you. Almost immediately I started getting the text asking me to "reply to stop" a charge may apply. I just can't stand the texts coming in at all hours of the day and night! I have recieved 4 today already.

I activated my Droid X yeaterday and have recieved 9 text's from the phone number 11-801-222-2269. I'm not replying to their stop text. I can't seem to find a way to stop the texts. I shut my phone down and turned it on again and I was blasted with another 3 texts right in a row from the number. grrrrr...

keep getting text messages in two for 118012222269.  thanks for info going to figure out how to block it
