Or, you can make it easy on yourself and just deal with your
business rather than trying to get out of it by conjuring up
some type of bogus complaint. Just a thought...

    ha!
Where the hell do people come off telling other people how to run things? I agree- you should take care of your business, but it's not my place or anyone else's place to tell YOU what to do. Get a grip, mind your own business, find another website to stalk.

I received a call, but the ID was just the number listed, no name, no message.  I do have student loans, but they are not past due in any way.  I am responsible and do take care of my bills.  I just looked here to see who had called, hung up, and not left a message.  When they leave a message for ME on MY NUMBER, I will call them back.  Not before.

    Frustrated
This offices calls my cell phone at least once a day for a woman I do not know. Every time I tell them they have the wrong number and to please remove my number from their system. Today the same guy I talked to before called and I asked what company he was with, he refused to answer and said he wasn't with a company that he just wanted to talke to "So-n-So", again I told him he had the wrong number and he said if I had the wrong number why didn't you just say that and not pop off and yelled someother stuff I couldn't understand before hanging up on me. I did call and report that representitive to the main office but I doubt it will do any good.

    Get Real
If you have a STUDENT LOAN and you are NOT PAYING your STUDENT LOAN these jokers will call you 8 times in a row.  Since I never answer calls from numbers that I do not know, I immediately hang up the phone.
Well, they called 8 times in a row, which is a violation of the Fair Credit whatever the freak it is law.
    That is considered harassment.
If I'm hanging up on you, that means I don't want to talk to you or anyone else for that matter.  People do call me but I never return phone calls.

    Don't Know and Don't Care!
Yep. They are calling and looking for an individual who moved out several years ago and flunked out of school. We don't know this individual's whereabouts and could care LESS.

    Good luck to them.

No, "Susan", the DNC list DOES include debt collectors who persist in harassing non-debtors:

Under the TCPA, a consumer has a right to file a lawsuit and recover $500 for each call that violates the TCPA. The TCPA can also be used in conjunction with the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act in some situations.

Generally, the TCPA does not apply to debt collectors making collection calls to debtors. However, if you are subjected to calls from a debt collector and you are not the debtor, you may file a lawsuit against the debt collector under the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act (FDCPA) and the TCPA.

This right was recently recognized by Judge Legrome D. Davis in a case called Watson v. NCO Group, Inc.  NCO Group is a debt collector that uses automated prerecorded collection calls.  In this case, Mr. Watson alleged he was getting hundreds of calls from NCO Group after he got a new phone number. Mr. Watson claimed he owed no debt to NCO Group, Inc.  Mr. Watson filed suit under both the FDCPA and TCPA.

    David Israel, defense lawyer for NCO, argued that the TCPA should not apply to debt collectors.  Judge Davis rejected the argument made by David Israel. The judge ruled that Mr. Watson had a right to sue NCO Group Inc under the TCPA for $500 for each call.  Judge Davis wrote;

[The] Court is convinced that a non-debtor's rights are in fact violated when he is subjected to repeated annoying and abusive debt collection calls that he remains powerless to stop.

Judge Davis' ruling was based upon his interpretation that collection calls to non-debtors violate the privacy rights provided by the TCPA.

So what can you do if you receive "wrong number" calls from debt collectors?

    1. Sign up for the Do-Not-Call registry.
    2. Save the calls captured by your voice mail or answering machine.
    3. Contact a consumer lawyer.

And, this is how stupid Collector Trolls are, who spend their lives posting misinformation in ALL CAPS.

This company has misrepresented itself as both a lawyer's office & as police officers to me.
At one point, the woman calling me even threatened me with arrest.
They refuse to stop calling, even after being told not to in writing.
They refuse to provide any evidence of the debt in writing.
I have reported them several times.
    They are predatory collectors.

You could also get this directly from your lender without involving a predatory collection agency.

Yes, all companies that routinely misrepresent themselves, harass people, and refuse to provide documentation of debt have NOTHING but your best interests at heart.

They chose their name - and letterhead - specifically to give that impression, which should be your first clue to just what type of company this is.

Legitimate ones, yes, but not undocumented ones from predatory companies that engage illegal practices.
It's completely obvious which posts are from their employees, and which are from their victims.
