For anyone else who received this text and are reading these comments, believe it or not it is legitimate.  I naively assumed it was legit, and called the number since I had received verification numbers from that phone number in previous months.  After talking with the rep, they scheduled a tech to come out and investigate the problem.  After hanging up I thought "wait was this a scam?" and searched online and found these posts.  So I logged into MySpectrum account and sure enough, I have a service appointment scheduled for the time we spoke about on the phone.  So it is legitimate.

I just received the same text on 4/22/2022.  I'm working from home, logged into the interest through VPN and not having ANY ISSUES!!  Scammers!!

Got this email as well. No intention of calling. But funny how they got the last 4 of my account number correct, and the contact email, home address etc... all correct. Hmmmm?

After reading all these posts and having trouble with pixelation, I called the number and got Spectrum who made an appt for them to come out and check my lines and modem.  The call is legit.

Just did online chat with Spectrum, this is a legit message. In some areas they are upgrading your equipment.

I called.Spectrum on their official site..there are no problems.of.outages in our area. The other number was a retail agent for Spectrum supposedly.

Not a scam. I was worried after seeing all these comments, but had zero issues with the service person. We actually had an interrupted signal and since the call, much better signal strength. Replaced modem and did some wiring reconfiguration for no charge.

dumb me called the number and called to set up an appointment.  I just called spectrum to change the day and time.....she says it is a scam.....they have no record of any such thing.  I don't THINK I gave any information out but who knows.  that was 2 weeks ago.  I am usually so vigilant and savvy about this and I cannot believe I got caught.  I will be hanging around on the day of the appointment to see what happens.  likely no one will show up.  I reported the email address and the phone number to spectrum.  (833) 778-2754.....email: my account@spectrumemails.com

Checked with customer service from spectrum. This is a legitimate number associated with text sent to arrange for proactive service call.

I also experienced the same as above. I decided to call Spectrum at their service phone line as specified on their website. The customer rep said that line did belong to Spectrum. According to the rep, the specific issue for my account was Spectrum noticed glitchy communications with my account so wanted to schedule service to check. Although I haven’t noticed any major issues, they are being proactive in resolving before service is significantly affected. I would recommend contact with Spectrum at their official  customer service # so you have assurance this is a bonafide Spectrum text.

Just got a text "We've detected an issue affecting your services. Please call 833-778-2754 today to schedule a service appointment at no cost to you." Went online chat with Spectrum who recommended I ignore it after checking status of system from their end.

This is legit. Spectrum is at my house now fixing issues I didn’t know I had. ATT has been coming around our area asking us to switch to them bc they are starting to offer fiber optic cable. I think Spectrum is doing preventative service to keep their customers.

I called Spectrum and they confirmed this IS A SCAM.  The people you call pretend to be Spectrum and sell your information to others who will log in and view using your info and add services, etc. to your account without your knowledge or consent.

Received call from this number.  Called Spectrum Customer Service, who advised due to covid, their regularly scheduling maintenance has not been completed, and they are scheduling appointments.  Advised to call 833-778-2754 back to schedule.  Called the number back and was advised Spectrum had identified a signal interruption in my service and needed to come out and check equipment.  Scheduled appointment and no hassles.  Only asked for my phone number and name.

I am very cautious nowadays about ever calling numbers left for me to call.My text message was exact same as most seen here. It obviously is going out to Spectrum customers only.....even though that may be because it is spear phishing rather than net phishing. The strange thing is.....I just visited the Spectrum brick-and-mortar store a week ago to turn in my old equipment while upgrading my service. I simply went from 200 to 400 mbps.....what a difference! I stream Pluto/Plex/Youtube/Tubi/Amazon Prime and a few others.......everything is working great! I am just going to resort to the old adage: "If it ain't broke, don't fix it".

This absolutely is legit! I saw all these "scam" comments here and almost didn't call, but I'm glad I did. Actually, I called the main Spectrum number (that I have on file and have used in the past) and asked if it was spam. They said no, it's real. Something about doing "proactive" maintenance(?). At any rate, I'm waiting for their call to set up the appointment. If you are still nervous about making the call, then just call your Spectrum number. But yes, it's the real deal, not spam.

I just got the same call from 833-778-2754 - both my internet and my TV are working fine.  Interesting scam -  I wonder if they're cold calling everyone or they have Spectrum's client list.

This is the second text in a week from 87598 telling me there is an issue affecting my service with Spectrum, the second one even stated it is a reminder.....I have had no issues with my service and am not about to call the number (833)778-2754

I did not call the number directly; however, I did open my Spectrum account online (not through any link from the email or text) and searched for the Contact Us number which was different. I called that number and the rep confirmed the emails and texts came from Spectrum.  They sent a rep (Spectrum truck with all the appropriate tools, etc), to fix the problem which turned out to be an issue with the internet (which was always falling off).  He installed an amplifier.  I don't know how much more I could have done to confirm it was real and hopefully the amplifier.
