Most likely a SCAM.

Simultaneously received both a test from 87598 and phone call from 833-778-2754 with the whole bogus Spectrum "there's currently an issue that's affecting your services" message that everyone else has already reported. So...whomever it is, is still at it. I blocked that number immediately.

I also received a phone call from 1-833-778-2754 same issue with service.

You did all that then rushed right to a phone number look-up site despite there being no logical reason for you to do so? Besides, even if this is "a legitimate Spectrum number" scammers frequently spoof legitimate phone numbers so there's no guarantee all calls from it are actually from Spectrum.

Why then do they need access to your home to fix it? Not believing their explanation. Neither should you.

Same msg as others, "This is Spectrum...., blah, blah".  Now blocked.  When has Spectrum ever called to offer something?  This is 2nd time in two weeks.  Last week it was a different number, it was from my area code.  Offering to "reduce my fees and save me $$$".  When has Spectrum ever offered something to their customer that wasn't more expensive.

It may be a valid number and a valid issue this time but, recently, a valid electric company number was coming up on caller I’d in my area and it was a scam. There is a way for scammers to do that. Always use caution and check.
