Got a text from 87598 only numbers shown. And it purported it was from Spectrum. Saying I had to contact the number 833-778-2754. I have zero intention as this is some kind of scam.

Text from 87598 saying spectrum is wanting you to call- We detected a problem with your service and make an appointment free of charge I’m not calling the 800 number they texted me to call

I also got a text from this number 87598 saying:

“Spectrum: We’ve detected an issue affecting your services. Please call 833-778-2754 today to schedule a service appointment at no cost to you.”

However the same number contacted me earlier that day to give me a verification code since I had forgotten a password and it worked and I was able to reset my login information on the official site.. I am a very knowledgeable IT Security person and also a Programmer. The language PHP can allow someone to text phones or send emails from any email address and/or phone number with only a few lines of coding. I believe it is a scam though, even though the verification code had worked, but the very next day after is when I got that message asking to contact them.

Just very strange. Do not trust this number.

Received  text message a week apart from 87598 claiming to be Spectrum claiming that there is ian issue affecting my services.  Message asks me to call 833-778-2754 to schedule a no cost service appointment.  Florida will freeze over before I call.

Received an email saying Spectrum detected a problem with my service during routine maintenance and to call 833-778-2754 or click the link in the email to schedule an appointment. It seemed suspicious to me so I called Spectrum. They had no record of sending an email or a problem detected with my services. Please be aware and question everything before responding to text, phone calls and emails related to this number.

Called Spectrum and this did come from them. If you would like to verify look their website up and call customer service.

same here march 15 and march 22. Not calling

Received text that there's issue with service and need to call them to schedule a free appointment. Like others have said I have received a verification code from the number and was also the number stating bill statement available online.

I too received a text. i called them (curious) they asked for my address. i didn't give it. I googled spectrum CS and the number isn't the same. I called them back and asked "who are you really??" Spectrum they replied. BEWARE!

Called spectrum, they said they really did send that out that message,they are upgrading all of there old equipment, and you will also receive a letter.you have from 2to 3 months to upgrade.The old equipment will no longer work after that.

had message on March 16 and Mar 23, not having any problems so checked internet to see-did not call

Received the same message this morning. Thank you for all the posts - I have no intention of calling. If it was really Spectrum, they would not be asking for an address - they would already have it in their records.

Although I do have spectrum, this text has red flags all over it. Not to mention I was watching a video....on the internet....which was working fine....as I received this text hahahahaha

Also received the text from 87598 but mine had a punctuation error in the word "We've" with it spelled "We?ve".  Text said "Spectrum: We?ve detected an issue affecting your services. Please call 833-778-2754 today to schedule a service appointment at no cost to you." I have no intention of calling and it STINKS of SCAM!!! I just deleted it and carried on with my day as my internet and TV service are working just fine!

I just got the same message.  I blocked it and reported it as spam to my service provider.

I got a text from 87598 at 10:35 AM saying "Spectrum: We've detected an issue affecting your services. Please call 833-778-2754 today to schedule a service appointment at no cost to you." I then got a call at 10:44 AM and left the same message. I am not calling back!

I also received this call, but it was automatically blocked as a “known spammer” by an app I have installed on my phone.

Watching TV and streaming with no issues. Obviously a scam, Never had Spectrum send me a text message before. Always a call or written communication. Not today scammers!
