Then I Googled the number and it wasn't the same as Spectrum Customer Service... and it lead me to this post... Thank You Alll for Posting. I will also block the number on my phone. Take care everyone and beware of scammers!!!
- SouthUSASame story here, 2 different texts stating same message. Spectrum says they didn't contact me. Obviously scammers!

- SSSame as others, received the text: Spectrum: We’ve detected an issue affecting your services. Please call 833-778-2754 today to schedule a service appointment at no cost to you.
Everything seems to be working fine, and when I looked up the number it brought me to this so I'm reporting it also.
I got a new phone and suddenly have been getting tons of scam texts and calls in the middle of the night.- Caller: Spectrum
- Call type: Text message
- EllieSo I got the same text as everyone, but I called Spectrum (the actual number online) and they said they did send me the text, they had the correct time of the text, knew that it was about preventative maintenance and when I called the number they did not ask for my address.
So odd. - Elisabethit IS actually spectrum doing routine maintenance. called spectrum customer service and they were able to confirm that they did send that text to me
- Caller: spectrum
- Dan moI kept my appointment next 2nd day Wi-Fi would not go to wifi 5 only 2 called in and they corrected it for me

- Barbara replies to JohnI got the same one and think it is a scam as well. Deleted it!
- Ari| 2 repliesIT IS NOT A SCAM! I called Spectrum customer service rather than the # provided in the email & text. I was told that it’s part of their proactive maintenance program. In some areas they have a problem with signal strength going out of the range required by the FCC so they are proactively trying to fix it. She told me I had called the wrong # & she would transfer me but gave me the number to call back in case we were disconnected. That # is the same contained in the email & text msg—833-778-2754. It is for their proactive maintenance dept. They made an appointment to come & check the lines today between 5-6. A couple of the people I spoke with at spectrum said their proactive maintenance system is confusing. But, it is legit. While our internet still works, we do have a problem periodically with it slowing down while streaming or even going out entirely. I’m glad they’re taking the initiative to fix this problem & I don’t have to wait 2 weeks for an appt.

- Looks LikeOne of the scammers is trying really hard to make people think that this is legitimate. Has posted under 5 different screen names so far today.
- FrankI also got the text. I blocked and deleted...
- Victor| 1 replyGot the text. Smelled fishy. Saw a news item online that some scams for the 833 area code are picked up by a provider with international rates of up to $20.00 for the first minute. Yikes. Will forward to SPAM 7726, block caller and delete.

- Kayden99I received the exact same text from 87598
Spectrum: We’ve detected an issue affecting your services. Please call 833-778-2754 today to schedule a service appointment at no cost to you.
I instead called the main Spectrum number 833-267-6094 list from my online account.
The spectrum representative confirmed the text and number above was Spectrum.
I hand dialed the number 833-778-2754 and they confirmed my address and scheduled an appointment. Then later that night, still wondering, I checked my account online and the scheduled appointment was listed in my account. The next day, the Spectrum technician arrived in a Spectrum truck and said that the message was sent out because they notice issues within my system. I had been having some minor spooling issues and the router would reset on its own when I had a lost connection once a in a while. A splitter was replaced, the system adjusted, and the modem upgraded.
The technician also said that Spectrum was filling in down time for several technicians and working on being proactive with internet issues.
There are lots of SCAMMERS out there, and someone could easily make this into a SCAM and who knows in your area maybe it a SCAM?
No big deal if you ignore the text message and assume it is SCAM as I did at first.
If you start having internet issues of course call the main Spectrum number listed on your bill or online account when you do need assistance.
Glad that everyone is being extra cautious.
Just sharing my experience in Grants Pass, Oregon.- Caller: Spectrum

- BigA replies to VictorNo you didn't. 833 is a toll free number. Now if you don't know how toll free numbers work that is your problem since they have been around for decades.
- KelliI got this text twice now too and I don't appreciate it. Just like you all, I am having no problems. I think this is a scam, and I hope these people burn in hell. I don't have time for this.

- LuisI received 3 voice messages on my phone, one on 3/28 and two on 3/30, all from the same voice, sounded fishy:
"Good afternoon, this is Andy calling from Spectrum. We are working hard to ensure you continue to receive high-quality service, and doing so we've identified a single issue with at your home that could impact your services, if the issue is not corrected. Please give us a call at (1-855-707-7328 on 3/28) and (1-833-778-2754 on 3/30) to schedule an appointment with the technician at no cost to you, thank you.."- Caller: Spectrum

- DeeI've now received both a text and email from "Spectrum". When I got the text, I called Spectrum's customer service number from their website & the rep told me it was a scam because Spectrum wouldn't a) contact you after 9:00pm (text was at 9:35pm) and b) there aren't any issues reported on my account. I can only assume this email is also a scam. Forward the email and a screenshot to phishing@charter.com when you get them and block.

- JohnI also received this text. I did not call the number in the text, but rather the Spectrum Customer Support number that I have. I was told that this was a valid text. It indicates that they detected a signal error when running routine diagnostics and therefore wanted to send a technician out to address a potential issue.
I was also suspicious which is why I found this set of notes.- Caller: Spectrum
