I got the same text. I called Spectrum Customer Service number. They said it is an old Time Warner number and to disregard the text.

I called Spectrum's normal number and it's legit. The do proactive maintenance in different area's.

I never trust random numbers and people asking me to call when I'm not expecting it....However I called the number on my internet bill and asked the Spectrum customer service rep if the text was legitimate and he stated it was and that Spectrum Service was looking to resolve an issue they detected on my line. So it is a legit text, but ****ALWAYS call a known customer service number you have with a company you do business with (bank, credit card, phone, utility...etc.) to verify before giving out info or following a random link.

I called Spectrum after getting this message in an email. I chatted online with someone first who had no record, but got the phone number from them and called and it was an update that needs to be made to my modem....a manual one. Someone is coming tomorrow to do the update.

I just called Spectrum and they verified that this number was legitamate. I had recieved an email with the same message.

Received Text & Called says Spectrum Wiring Maintenance Team & set up an appointment to work on wiring in house for Cable & Internet saying signal is weak.  Then thought it was really strange & reached out to Spectrum.  Not Surprised..... IT's A SCAM!  Not Spectrum or Charter Communications.  So, Called the number back and of course disconnected me from call before could even say anything.       IT IS A SCAM.... Not sure exactly what they are wanting or trying to do and that is a major concern.

Most likely they will want some type of payment.  I am sure that one of the scammers will be by shortly to post a "it is so legit" post since they seem to be monitoring this thread for posts that tell the truth like your post does.

It is a scam.  There was nothing on my billing or on the Spectrum web site saying I have issues.

I too received a text allegedly from spectrum saying there was an issue with service asking me to call this #. Red flagged because I have had issues and it took days to contact anyone there. I doubt they would proactively contact me.

More than strange.  I went online and chatted with Spectrum and they told me the date they sent the email and that it was legit. The email included my correct address and the correct last 4 digits of my account number.  I'm going to call them. Someone hold my coat.

Got phone text on husband phone saying issue with our wi fi, he called number said they were Spectrum made appointment but now not so sure, going to Spectrum place at our local mall to verify  this in person.

I received a text from 87598 telling me to call Spectrum at 833-778-2754 due to "an issue affecting your services".  I called Spectrum first at the number on my bill and verified it is indeed a Spectrum service phone number and Spectrum said I should call that number.  I called and they said issues with my signals and speed.  Arranged a tech to come out to my house.  As best I can tell after due diligence, this is a valid number.

Got this "Spectrum: We’ve detected an issue affecting your services. Please call 833-778-2754 today to schedule a service appointment at no cost to you". It is not spectrums number and when I called Spectrum, they verified it is NOT them.  Reporting it.

I answered the phone and got a recorded phone message, same message as everyone else.  I actually am having a problem with my t.v. reception so it seemed possible that it was related to an issue in the area.  I would have been happy to have someone here to fix it.  But I live in New York, where we trust no one, so I did a quick number search.  I wonder if anyone has actually made an appointment and had someone show up at their house?

The scammers have claimed so.  The strange part is that they also claim that they called Spectrum using the number on their bill or through chat and that those people could not set this "appointment" up.  Now what reason would there be for that?  None that I can see.  I am sure that one of them will be by shortly to tell you exactly how "legit" this is.  They seem to be monitoring this thread for posts that expose their scam.

This was legit, from Spectrum. If there is a drop off in service throughout the day they keep track, and will reach out to have a tech review the lines, free of charge.

The shilling is strong with this number. Reported for removal.

That didn't take the scammers long did it?  It is obvious that they are monitoring this thread.

The persistence is mind-boggling.
