    I got a text also saying Spectrum detected a problem and to call to this number. I won’t after seeing this post. But my service has been pixeled at times so I’ll call one of the actual numbers I have.

    And then you rushed right to a phone number look-up site despite there being no logical reason to do so? Yeah, no one believes you, shill.

    Spectrum DID contact me. They said there is a signal problem with the cable TV (ie the signal is not strong enough) at my address and they wanted to correct it. Set up an appt to correct the problem.

    I contacted Spectrum directly and they stated that this is a legitimate request.  Spectrum would come out to your home to check your wiring to be sure signal strength, etc., is as it should be.  The service is free but you are under no obligation to have anyone come out.  This is a form of their preventive maintenance.

    This thread is just full of people who have dismissed these texts immediately without simply calling a legit Spectrum number to verify. There's one on your bill. It's not complicated. I received one of these texts, too, so I logged into my actual account and called a legit number. The company has been updating its system/infrastructure in my area. I knew this already because they've had to shut off service for the area intermittently in recent days, and they've sent automated texts to notify customers of outages. People here are like "I'm connected right now, so this must be a scam!" No, there are actual connectivity issues you can have aside from an outage. Call the number on your bill and find out what Spectrum is up to in your area.

    This number and message are legit, I’ve received verification codes from this same number to reset my spectrum password. Called the number to set up the service appointment and got a appointment confirmation afterwards directly on the spectrum app itself. Do I believe there’s actually something wrong with my service? No, Im watching Netflix at this exact moment. Do I believe they’re gonna come out and check my network and then try to upsell me on more services? 100%, but if there’s a chance they can get their mediocre service to work any better I’ll let them come check it out.

    Good for you, but it doesn't help those who get a call from a scammer spoofing this number and trying to gain access to their accounts. The number itself doesn't mean a thing these days since spoofing a number to hide who is really calling is as easy as using an online service.

    Got two texts from a 87598 number saying to call this number about an issue with my spectrum account. I ended up reaching out separately to spectrum customer service. Turns out it's legit. They are trying to do maintenance on the line in my area. Not sure why they don't have any info on the app or just send an email but it is not spam

    I just contacted Spectrum through a different number than the one in the text message I got...this is a legit text message! I am not having any problems but they explained what they are seeing on their end. They are coming tomorrow to check the cables from the street! Just call even billing if you don't trust the number in the text...it's all legit!

    The phone number is indeed Spectrum.  Not a scam.  I reached out to Spectrum first using their official chat on their website and they had records of the 2 dates I received the text messages, which was correct.  I called the number and was told they are doing routine signal checks and my home internet was showing a service error and needed to be checked.  I booked an appointment with them.

    Received a call from 833-778-2754, same info as others, but I also just scheduled a replacement modem as I received a mailer informing me I was eligible for a replacement modem from them free of charge. Website seemed legit also, was spectrum.net/selfinstall. Not panning on calling the number, sounded like some other calls I have gotten from them, mechanical voice recording.

    I received the text from 87598, to Call an 833 area code for Spectrum. I remembered this;

    833 code is not assigned to any geographical location. So this code is repeatedly bought by scammers on a small money deposit. It is used for one-ring scams where scammers set a code and then rob people of their mobile balance; as soon as you receive the call from the number, the scammers take the money.

    This is a valid text. I checked my account online and found a notation that said my modem had a connection issue. I hadn't really noticed anything but called the main customer service number and she explained that the text is from their maintenance team. They got a ping that some of my downstream signals are bad. I have an appointment for them to come check everything this week.

    Go ahead and either call the number provided or the main number on the website. She said hardly anyone calls because everyone thinks it's a scam.

    It looks like my previous post is pending moderator approval. But I wanted to post an update. This time, I took the time to register on this site and my email has been verified. I got the text everyone else did. I was suspicious, so I googled the number and ended up here. I was not having any connection issues currently, but had an issue the previous day and have had them in the past. So, I checked my Spectrum account online and under "My Services", both Internet Connection and Modem show "Connection Issue" noted in red. I reset my modem per instructions on the website, but the notation remained. I called the main support number on the website. They confirmed that the text came from their maintenance department. They also checked and said some of my downstream signals were bad. They set up an appointment for someone to come out this week. I received an appointment confirmation email. I will come back here after the appointment to post an update.

    I am not advocating for anyone to call the number in the text, as that could certainly be spoofed. But you are safe to call a known number from your bill or the website to verify.

    I got the same text message as everyone here has reported.  Today was the second time and the message started with, "as a reminder..."  I appreciate that most of you feel this is a scam.  I agree.  A few of you report having checked it out and found it legit but I remain skeptical.
