833-778-2754

This was legit. I verified through Spectrum account with faking a password change and they sent a verification code from the same telephone number. Spoke to a rep. They say a signal issue, probably it is my router. I did not make an appointment because I have no time. I'll just go to the store and get an upgrade.

Received a text from 87598 saying Spectrum has detected an issue affecting my services & to call 833-778-2754 to schedule a service appointment. Definite spam

I don't mean to be paranoid, but the people claiming it is legit could be part of the scam. Since when does Spectrum text me? They're difficult enough to get on the phone.

Legit - IS SPECTRUM -  It's their pro-active service team. They didn't ask for money or personally identifying info other than the service address. It has the voice recognition prompts which i doubt scammers are using.

Received the same text as many others here, that there was a service issue and to call the number listed. The sending number was the same one used for other verified legitimate communications with Spectrum, but I know that can be spoofed without too much trouble.

Spectrum's customer service Twitter account responded to an inquiry about the number:

"I'm not showing that number listed in our database although it may be from a regional center. I would recommend contacting our main service number directly at 1-855-707-7328."

Text came from 87598 (from which I have received legitimate Spectrum communications) telling me to call them at 833-778-2754.

I did call & schedule a visit but the guy did nothing. I'm wondering he he placed some kind of spyware on my wifi.

Most likely. You might want to have the real Spectrum come out and take a look.

Even if the number IS 833-778-2754 that's no guarantee "It is legit" since scammers spoof legitimate phone numbers all the time.

Just got the same text with the same phone number to call. Not calling.

I got this text and its funny a couple of the reviews i read said they called the number and it was Spectrum. I used to work for them I was there for about a year and to all that say it is Spectrum well not true if we need to get a hold of u it's automated call and for 2 u would see a message on your account if u have the app on phone and 3 u wouldn't have any service.On some new cell phones if u call that number ure phone will lock up and u have no more phone.im not there anymore so I don't know for sure what phones  (1/3) Spectrum: We?ve detected an issue affecting your services.(2/3) Please call 833-778-2754 today to schedule a service (3/3) appointment at no cost to you.

Same telephone no.  & "detected an issue affecting your services." etc, etc.
NOT CALLING!!!!
