Recorded message saying "please don't be alarmed, but this is the last day to get a lower interest rate on your credit card...".  I didn't press 2 to speak to anyone.  I just hung up.  This is a scam.  I received the FBI newsletter about this type of scam a few weeks ago.

How many people out there that are getting these phone calls have signed up for info concerning Direct TV? I was inquiring about Direct last week on the web and they wanted my home phone so a saleman can call me back....A saleman DID call and we talked about the info I wanted and after that, I started getting calls from this number

Just received a call on my cell phone for this number. I screen my calls. Since I have googled the number and found this website I will not waste my precious day time minutes to return the call. Thanks for leaving a note for folks just like me!

I also received a call from Pensicola FL #850-438-3174.. I answered the phone and no one was there... I called it back and it was disconnected

The number that showed up on my caller iD was disconnected?

These SOB's called me today.... Same story as the rest.  My question is why can't someone track them down I thought all numbers had to be registered to someone???? Doesn't make any sense.

Got "Don't be alarmed, but this is the last day on which you can reduce your rate" from spoofed number (850-473-1276 "Florida"). Glad to find this site!

People getting these calls who want to help put a stop to them should go to the web site www.heatherwitaccountservices.com to get the info on the real identities of the criminals behind this scam and the agencies to report them to using this info.  Reporting them using the fake names they give out (Card Services, Financial Services, etc.) or the fake phone numbers that they illegally cause to show up on your Caller ID does little good.

This is the message I received when I tried to file a complaint with the "Do Not Call" website. In otherwords they can continue to call until August 09 and then just start using another number.

This number is also (must be a company doing several callings)a collection outfit looking for someone that rented a room from me 10 YEARS AGO! I have asked several times to stop calling. Can I get my service provider to block it? I'll try that now.

Lady says "Your account has expired, press 1 if you want to renew it"
at this moment I just hanged up.  When we tried to call the same number,
it says that this number is no longer in service or has been disconnected.

Received a call from 850-473-1276 PENSACOLA, FL.The recording said the call was about my account and could lower my interest rate, offer ends soon, and to press "1" to find out more or "2" to discontinue calls. Pressed "1"; next recording said all "agents" were busy. Then a man, with a heavy black accent, identified himself as Bob somebody, and asked for my name and number. He was defensive and vague when I questioned him. I told him he should know my name and number because he had called me about my account. He said he was just "in a bank of callers" so my call "rolled over to him" and he didn't know those details nor did he know exactly what the company was offering--BUT he wanted my name and number. I pressed for more information and asked him if it was about a credit card, he again avoided answering and said it was "sort of like" that. I told him I was on the Government's "Do Not Call" list and I was going to report them. SS

I too got a call from (850) 473-1276  then I told them I was on the registery and to please not call me, then a few hours later, I get another similar call from "Unknown"  

I believe that you can block certain numbers from calling you, but I have to look into how to do it, since I've never had to before.

I also received a call from 850 473 1276 however it was at 1:00 in the morning.  Why is this permitted.  I am also registered on the No Call List.

Called today.  Pressed 1 to talk with a rep as I'm on the DNC.  Guy said they were in Orlando, Florida.  Wouldn't give a mailing address, said they would call again tomorrow.  Reported to DNC as I've been on for ~3 years (since it first started and I've renewed twice..)  I hate scams.

They called, and said they were Financial Services. They could lower our interest rates on any credit card that has over 9% interest.
Told them we were not interested (a baby was crying in the backround, the call was probably coming from a private residence).

I called the number back after reading the other reports on 800 notes, just like the other people, the number has been disconnected.
