- Charlotte replies to trc502Girl yes, this is a mess, I called them back to back, they won't even tell me what the case is.
- JayThis company called my home number yesterday evening and left a message. They said there name was "michael knight" and that they had a sworn complaint affidavid for a restraining order for my son case reference ENK-####. I called last night but only got a machine saying leave a message so I did not. I called again this morning and asked for this person, they weren't available so the representative said they could help me just to give them the affidavid number. I did and they said it was for debt owed by my son. I said well he doesn't live here. They told me to pass on the information. I told them I did not want them calling my home again and that if they do, I will turn over the message and information given to the Attorney Generals office. They went on to say they 'sent' papers out. I said no he hasn't received any papers. So I asked where there address was and was giving 1700 N Monroe St., Tallahassee, FL 32307. Upon looking up the address it is suites so they 'forgot' to give me that number. I asked for the court name that issued said restraining order. They said they could not tell me that. So I again told them do not call my home again or I'd sent the message and info to the Attorney General. This representative asked is this was my son and I said yes, and he said well your son is the one that listed your number for emergency contact. Then he told me I should be careful to whom I give my number out to and good luck. He promptly hung up before I could say that this was not an emergency situation. Rude individuals here.

- JayI forgot to include that the representative also said that the affidavid was correct but that it was for a "restraining order of assets". I explained that the called had greatly upset me and has me worried and that no mention 'of assets' was in the message left. He said they should have said that. Bologna.

- SandyI received the same call today and some guy, supposedly named Gary Lockwood left a msg on my answering machine stating that he is a special investigator - what a joke! If these people are suing you, you will get served with a summons and complaint there will never be a restraining order involved. They just throw around legal termenology to scare people. No one goes to jail for credit card debt. Unless you are intentionally committing fraud. And if you are intentionally committing fraud, believe me you will not be getting a call, a real government agent will be knocking at your door.
Collectors, stop with the [***] intimidation tactic when trying to collect on a debt. I understand that you are trying to make a living, but really! People have enough stress trying to put food on the table these days without having to deal with intrusive, digusting, idiot debt collectors. STOP ALREADY!!!!!

- fpyThank you for posting this. Unfortunately, we fell victim to this scam. It's incredible. They certainly have their script memorized.
He presented himself as a lawyer or from a law firm. Very clever!
We didn't challenge him enough and ask enough questions! We were just trying to do the right thing. It's awful that there are people out there who try to take advantage of people who they know are already in a financially bad situation. Ask questions! Demand evidence and documentation!
Because of this posting, we've taken action so hopefully they cannot access our bank account.

- Still Fed Up| 1 replyLisa Clark a Special Investigator for Continental Legal Services. Claims to be debt collector from payday loan that I did NOT have. Threatening messages asking for attorney info. and saying "God Bless You and Good Luck". Speak VERY broken English. Gives American/English name with STRONG middle-eastern accent. ie: Officer Mark Reneiecen, Aaron Thompson, Mike Davis, Michael Davis, Shane Harris, Shaun Harris, John Adams, John Rogers, Eric Williams . Threatening jail time, “a bad situation unfolds”, court fees. Sometimes claims to be from "All American Financial" or "Federal Dept. of Justice." Claims to "download" a subpoena..arrest warrant...law suit..going to arrest me at work...meet me at courthouse...must have my "retained attorney of record" call as soon as possible. Sometimes has the nerve to say “God Bless You” or “Good Luck”. HILARIOUS considering I actually work for the state level Justice Cabinet! Sometimes claims to be representing CashNetUSA or CashUSA.Net. I called CashNetUSA and they stated that this was a scam. They have NO information on me whatsoever. Call cell, place of business..and anyone you may have listed as a reference on an online payday loan or anything else....from years ago! Gave him the # to my attorney....the Better Business Bureau....became irate. Also give number to local police fraud division as attorney’s number. Using female “Kim Stewart from Jaffe and Jaffe Law Firm” claims to have sent legal documents to a gmail account. So silly! Officer Chris Williams from law firm of "Cyber Crime Unit". States supervisor will be arrested and interrogated as well!!

Have filed/reported complaint with State Attorney General's Office, IC3, Credit.com, this website, numerous other scam alert websites and anyone else who will listen, it is actually VERY comical now. My co-workers and I enjoy listening to the voice messages or "playing along" with their script. "We will arrest you at work." where do I work?" "You know where you work." Complete IDIOTS!!
Has now started sending ridiculous emails to a rarely used gmail account. States to call 408-663-9405 if I don't want to go to jail, but that I'm going to jail because I won't pay. Horrible, broken english. Obviously a botched attempt at a form letter/email.- Caller: Continental Legal Services

- WolfNamasteI got a call today from a Gary Lockwood from this number saying there is a court case and they can forward the info to my attorney.
I know I owe on some credit cards, and just recently debt collectors have started to call me. I did call one back and told them I didn't have time for them since they didn't leave messages, and that I have other bills that are more pressing, these debts have been sitting for YEARS.
So after that is when I got this call. So after reading all the other post I am sure this is some scare scam to get my money for one of these accounts. I refuse to pay anything over the credit limit, because I know I only spent maybe 150 on the credit card, and the limits were 300 but some of them are asking for 900 dollars. I am sorry but no. Ill pay the limit of the card and nothing more. I know this is how credit cards make money but man oh man.
Also I know scare tactics are not legal. I also worked as a collection agent for a bank that has many credit cards it sponsors and we learned about what was legal and legit. This is not how people collect. This is bogus and they should so get in trouble for this shady and horrible practice.- Caller: No name given of company
- SERIOUSLY?A week after my father in law passed away, my mother in law received a frightening call from "Special Investigator James", who impressed upon her that my husband (her son) was required to "show cause" on a restraining order against him.
While this is ludicrous, and non-sensical, she was, as many others here understandably were, terrified for him. They told her if he didn't call back, he'd be arrested, etc. Of course, when "they" are calling his Mommy's house, where he hasn't lived for over 20yrs, in another state......one would have to wonder how they would arrive to arrest him! I laughed, and told her it was clearly a scam. I then called the number after hours, got the "Continental Legal Support" voicemail, and Googled....leading me here.
While I think it's hilarious that they are so obviously ridiculous...my elderly mother in law was terrified. The fact that they continue to harass and threaten innocent people, and so blatantly violate their Civil Rights is a disgrace to our legal system.
Reading these posts is a riot....take the "Investigators" names! If they aren't names "Smith" or "James", they are:
Michael Knight (really? Knightrider? Is he clling from Kitt the car? LOL)
Jacklyn Smith (Did Bosley give this Angel the mission to call?)
Jim Jones (are we supposed to go live on his compound? Drink Kool Aid?)
Gary Lockwood (I'm not a Dr/Cop/Space Odyssey star...I've just played them in movies and on TV since
the 60's...lol)
Oh my....well, at least the little foreigners pick famous people....lol.
In all seriousness, I am going to file a complaint and contact my attorney...they are eventually going to do some reall harm with their scare tactics.- Caller: Continental Legal Support
- seriously?? replies to AnonymousDONT go to that link...it takes you to a phishing site 8) You have to go to the actual FTC website.
- seriously?? replies to ill beWOW. Are you guys searching yourselves now that you set up a hokey FaceBook page? Your grammar REEKS of the way the scamming "Special Investigators" speak. "I'll not do that again" Hmmmm...such a proper sentence structure from someone who doesn't know their screen name is missing and apostophe.
Funny, you have no problem being called and harassed...and you actually ENCOURAGE folks to "take some sort of offer". Gee, might you, oh I don't know, WORK FOR THESE BULLYING SCAMMERS?
Oh...FYI...kinda tough to have $300 "a month" (or as you wrote, 300.00 $...lol) taken out...here in the USA, we don't usually get paid monthly, silly! ;) - JJ EDWARDS| 2 repliesIf you dumb [***] would pay your debts you wouldn't have to worry about it!!

- labThank-you!!! Thank-you!! I just received the same message from a Gary Lockwood, special investigator saying the same things as above, which scared me to death, but made no sense.
Thank-you to all that posted, it's a scam for sure. I did call the numbers back, but no one was there to take my call. The number that appeared on my phone was from a police protection, which scared me even more. I have no restraining order or court case out in my name. Thank-you to all that posted. I see I'm not the only one that received the same message with the same number to call back, 850-629-8216- Call type: Debt collector
- meI received a voicemail from the 850-629-8216 number, same restraining order spiel. I knew no such thing could exist so I ignored it, but it was nice to see that I was not the only one to get this message. I don't know who they are or what they are up to, but I owe no one any money so it some kind of scam.
- Bonnie replies to fallsforanythingI would close that checking account immediately, this is fraud and they could debit/ACH your account and you wouldn't know it until you had no money
- Julie NashThey called us saying they were suing us for an old debt. I know we paid that debt off a few months ago. I had all the paperwork in front of me. When I began questioning them, they said never mind, we are removing your name from our list since you said you paid it off. They tried to claim that they were representing the bank!
