This is a scam to get money and or personal information from you.  I just got the same call and they stated that I owe $1500.00 to a pay day loan store from back in January.  I never took a loan for that amount of money and so they told me that I would be taken to court if I did not settle, I refused and they told me good luck in court and hung up on me.

They tried to get me to settle on a debt that I never had.  Told me that I was going to be taken to court and then hung up.

I received a call from this number today saying they have a an affadavit and restraining order with my name on it? The company said I had 24 hours to respond . The company would not leave name.

I just received another call from these people.  She was foreign and extremely rude.  She has access to my cell phone and my work phone number??  She said she was an investigator.  Made comments such as " a complaint has been filed against you" a restraining order" and they will "see me in court"??  I do not owe these people any money.  I just filed a complain with FTC and others should do the same.

I received a call today from this number and they too stated back in January of 2011 I refused to pay a debt and I could settle it today for 1,000.oo and asked for my bank information.  I wanted further information from who the debt was from and they would not give me the debt collector.  He also told me that if I did not settle this, I would receive a legal papers at my work and asked where I worked and at home, I would go to court and would go to jail for 10 years for Fraud.  I told him to send out the legal papers and I would have my attorney look into this, I asked further questions and this person became unsure of what answers to say.  He hung up suddenly.  I too, did a reverse call on the number and tried to locate this legal firm and told my attorney of this, he told me I did the right thing about giving NO INFORMATION, it's a SCAM..DO NOT GIVE OUT ANY INFORMATION, JUST HANG UP.

Gary Lockwood calls and tells me that there is a case pending, case number ADT2847. That if I do not respond within 48 hours that they will place a restraining order on me.

I received the same call from the same phone number 850-629-8216. Said I owed Orchard Bank. Very bizarre.

I had this call today as well. Came up as a blocked number. Scared the [***] out of me and I worried all day while in my classes, nice try though. Maybe I should put some of my training to use and come say hello to you [***]! You're gonna [***] the wrong person one day...and I hope that happens for the greater good...You SCUM! Special Investigator Somoa Moore or however you spell it. If it were legal action against me I would have received some kind of notice or court order. So yea....get BENT!!!! Rot in Pieces!!! These people are scammers...They need to be shutdown and prosecuted, Nice try thought, not all people are stupid...

My husband and my sisters tell me all the time do not call numbers back you do not know.  Starting today I will heed to their words of wisdom. These scammers called me today. At first I was alarmed, but after doing a quick little investigation and calling them back I realized they were after any information that they did not already have on me. They tried to lead me into giving them the last 4 of my social security #. The stated the first 5 numbers and waited for me to say something, I didn't. I started asking questions and the lady got really angry, I tried to tell her I have never had an account with this company she said in a very rude voice, just talk to the judge. I am contacting a lawyer to see what I can do legally...but, I have learned my lesson concerning calling back numbers I do not know and answering numbers I do not know.

I got a call yesterday, stating I had been served with a supena, giving an case # and this phone #. I did call back. They had my name (but not legal first name) and when I pushed on their info they gave an address in Illinois where they said they had attempted to serve me. What gets me is that they had the first 6 digits of my social security number! (and said that was all they had) I foolishly said it was my number but that I had never lived at that address. The phone then went dead. I called back, this time it said I had to wait to have my call answered. When they did answer I asked what the case was. The person stated a "Juniper Bank" had extended a line of credit. When I said this was not me and asked what they would do to correct it, he said, "I'll report it to the Fraud division."  

At the time, I thought they were trying to get me to pay something to defend me or pay off this so called dept. But now I am worrying that they have enough information that other accounts etc. of mine may be in danger. What should I be doing to protect myself or get them investigated?

I received a call from these people stating the exact same thing, that I owed them money, they are a special investigator and that they had a supboenoa for me and it involved a restraining order.  This is NOT possible, I can tell you that there is no way these people can get a restraining order against you like this. I asked them who was suing me and they refused to tell me the name of the petitioner.  They just kept asking me if I had applied for a loan.. when I refused to give them any more information until they told me who the petitioner was, they told me good luck in court and hung up on me.  She also mentioned that they tried to serve me a subpenoa at home, when I asked what address they had for me, she had to put me on hold, actually, she had to put me on hold after every question I asked her. This place is a scam.  DO NOT GIVE THEM ANY INFORMATION!!!

They called me at work and freaked me out.  I tried to call back but was on hold for 17 minutes and hung up.  I am not sure what to do since they have my work number.  Will they start harrassing me here?  Who are they and what do they want?

These people are blatantly violating the FDCPA. You are correct, 4 years from the last payment made on the debt is considered to be "out of stat", meaning the Statute of Limitations is up. Also, refusal to provide VOD(Verification of Debt) is also a violation, and implying they are going to be taking legal action which cannot be, or is not intended to be taken, is also a violating this federal act.

Received the same kind of voice message, stating something about a restraining order and to forward it to my attorney within 24 hours.  I didn't even bother calling back because I received a call similar to this about a year ago that was a scam.

I recieved the same phone call today and they were unable to provide me with any information about this so called outstanding debt I have.  I called the supposed company I suppose to owe and they have no information about a bill in my name.  Further, this litigation company had part of my information, do anyone know of a way to sue this such company.

I too panicked when i got this message, i went straight to my credit union and took out whatever
cash was in there.
