OMG! Just got the same phone call, and SO happy I read these posts!!! SO FURIOUS! I was so upset by this message. Garrett Lockwood, a Private Detective, called and left a message from a private phone number leaving me the Affidavit number: 8506298216, saying to contact him or my lawyer within 24-48 hours for a restraining order. I have spent the last hour trying to find out if this was real or not. What a scam, this should be a crime. What is wrong with people that they have nothing else better to do, and how did they get my cell phone number??? UGH! DO not call them back or give them ANY info!!! GOOD LUCK!

I got a call from a Victoria Smith saying my lawyer or myself needed to call back within 24-48 hrs . She left an affidavit number and said something about a restraining order.  I called back, got a voicemail and left my first name and affidavit number they had given me.  It's been 2 days now and no one has called me back.  My mother thought it was a collection agency but I am a massage therapist and the message said there was a complaint against me so naturally I wanted to check it out.  I am so glad my mother googled the group - Continental Legal Support to see what they were and if there were others that had gotten calls from them.  When I went to the courthouse  to see if there was anything filed against me, there wasn't, the person there told me if they were a scam I should report them to the police.  Should I? Does anyone know who these people should be reported to? appreciate any and all replies

Same recd call from work number, girl said she's from WASHINGTON Legal..with an affidavit number and said that they had 24-48 hrs for them or their attorney to call back.  The call back number is 850-629-8216.  He also mentioned a law suite and restraining order..scary but not calling them back.

Read my previous posts ...these guys are in Africa, probably Nigeria, it is just a scam, there is no debt or legal action against you, they just want your personal information so they can steal from you. You need to call the cops that can go after Nigerians, not your local cops, FBI or State Department.

I also received a call from them stating they had a subpoena for my arrest because I failed to pay a payday loan back.  I settled and paid this loan back in 2007 yet I am still being hassled by different collection agencies.  When I faxed the information back to them, they sell it to someone else.  I just decided enough is enough.  I told them subpoena me.  Let's see if this happens....

(1) The false representation or implication that the debt collector is vouched for, bonded by, or affiliated with the United States or any State, including the use of any badge, uniform, or facsimile thereof.
(2) The false representation of—
(A) the character, amount, or legal status of any debt; or
(B) any services rendered or compensation which may be lawfully received by any debt collector for the collection of a debt.
(3) The false representation or implication that any individual is an attorney or that any communication is from an attorney.
(4) The representation or implication that nonpayment of any debt will result in the arrest or imprisonment of any person or the seizure, garnishment, attachment, or sale of any property or wages of any person unless such action is lawful and the debt collector or creditor intends to take such action.
(5) The threat to take any action that cannot legally be taken or that is not intended to be taken.
(6) The false representation or implication that a sale, referral, or other transfer of any interest in a debt shall cause the consumer to—
(A) lose any claim or defense to payment of the debt; or
(B) become subject to any practice prohibited by this title.
(7) The false representation or implication that the consumer committed any crime or other conduct in order to disgrace the consumer.

Don't call them back, don't pick up their callks.  If they contact anyone else tring to get in touch with them, just tell whoever it is that it is an extortion scam, and refer them to the above website as well as this one, and the links down the right side.

If you should pick up, and are in a position to do so, blow a metal whistle or signal horn in their ear.  It should stop them pretty quickly.  Don't let them get you upset, even though that's easy for me to say....

They called me today. Said I had a payday loan from check mate. And they are sending me a supina notice for court. I called check mate to verify this. They said I never had a loan with them and I dont owe them a dime. continental legal service gave me same phone number. 850-629-8216. there so calld address 1700 n monroe st tallahasy fl 32303.   I told the guy to google himself and see what people are saying. He hung up on me. ha.ha.

If I had the time I would just keep calling their number and harass them. That way they have less time to go after the vulnerable. Just keep telling them the FBI is searching for them, that we know they are in Africa or some other shi_t hole continent or country and one day they will track them down. If they laugh at you... just say we found Osama didn't we? You should not be that hard to find.

Just start laughing when they call, tell them you know they are in Nigeria or some other shi_-hole country that needs to be invaded by the marines! Tell them that the seals are coming, Osama could not hide, neither can they!

Called and said there was a complaint against me and that I needed to have my lawyer contact them in 24-48 hours.  The lady spoke so fast and not really clear so it was hard to understand everything.  "Restraing order" and "pursuit" was thrown in there.  I know I don't owe anybody anything, so I knew it was a scam.

I received a call from an unknown caller and they left a message stating I had an arrest to appear, a law suite and a restraining order and left a affidavit number, I received this call on a Saturday at 8pm! This is a big scam they want nothing but your information and or credit card number!

I got a call from a  Tasha Reed, special investigator, telling me I must call this number back,and also to call my attorney because I am involved in a court action and I must testify. and on & on & on.This is not the first call like this that I have received, but I am getting pretty sick of it.  The also call relatives and try to scare them for me.  They called my ex-husband and now they are calling a woman who bought a house I sold.  She called and asked me to please stop using her phone as a reference.  She is getting calls at all hours.  I will report them.  I just found the number on this page to do so.

Anyone else wanting to report them, here' is the number I will call! I copied this from the page before this one.
