- rlcI have been receiving calls for a month now. The calls are coming from local numbers. I called back one day. They had the last 4 numbers of my social. I asked them for their mailing address and they claimed they couldn't give that to me. Said they were in New York. Its a scam. Please don't anyone send money for anything or give them any information! I told them to stop calling and that I work at night and sleep during the day. The calls stopped for a few days and then they started calling again. Yesterday I received a call twice in a row and was left a voicemail. I have blocked the numbers but they call from different numbers every time.
- Whip| 6 repliesSadly, and I say sadly because these people are awfully unprofessional to speak with-- and have all the ear marks of being a scammer-- but sadly they are a legit company. In my case I had overdrafted my checking account and then stopped using the account. Fees piled on from the bank and when I didn't ever pay them the account closed. At some point it was sent to a collection agency. I'm sure it was sold off a few different times, but fast forward 6 years later and a company called Diversified Funding had the account and sold it to JTM Management. JTM Management has the same mailing address and the same cheesy looking website as our friends THOMAS, KING & ASSOCIATES. Apparently JTM Management is the collection agency and Thomas, King & Associates is the "investigation agency" that tries to track you down and hogtie you into paying your debt to JTM. Not sure why they are 2 separate companies-- and I'm sure there is SOMETHING fishy with that aspect, BUT these guys are legit. I did a WHOLE LOT of research to find this out. Don't take my word for it-- do your own research, but in the end you will find out what I did. After making a payment to them, my account is now back in order with the bank with whom I owed money to in the first place. I will admit though that these folks are unprofessional and need a lesson or 2 in learning how to speak to people politely.

http://jtmcm.freshdesk.com - Terry B.I have been getting calls from these idiots for a couple of years now. Same story - "assets and liabilities search", "noted as uncooperative", limited time for my "claim" etc.
Thomas King and Associates is either an investigation firm in New South Wales, AU or a psychologist in California. I'm betting on the Aussie. Since I have no "claims" and they choose to spoof their phone number and caller ID information, I would strongly suspect a scam of one sort or another. - L. GrazianoKeeps calling saying GECC is suing my daughter for a PayPal acc't from 2010. He had her SS#. She did not have a PayPal acc't in 2010 and hadn't lived with me for 7 yrs. I believe this a scam to get a very specific amount of $$, but am afraid they have her SS#!!
- Caller: didn't say
- Small Business OwnerI'm in California, just received the threatening call about the asset/liability search and being branded uncooperative. Also called back from another phone (blocked) and was directed to a voice mail. No identification of company.

- rcbWe have received this message twice. Didn't respond to call reported to better business Bureau . They had no knowledge of
this scam but referred us to this google web site. Nevada location. - KristenGot this same call today as well. My outgoing message doesn't even say my name so how could they even know who they are leaving a message for! Idiots! I have a CT number, but live in NC now.

- JaneA caller at 209-633-0715, left numerous messages about assets and liability search and said if the call wasn't returned by calling 855-396-2263, that I would be considered uncooperative. I ignored for a couple weeks, then researched this number on another website. Some people post that after a death in their family these phone calls started. How rotten to the core these people must be!!
- jane replies to WhipI agree with the others - your posting is fishy
- VirginiaI've been getting these calls everyday for the past couple weeks on my cell. Finally picked up and it was a recorded message and left 855 number to call back. They were calling from a local number. I'm not going to call back after reading these comments. Sounds like a scam.
- bubba replies to CGB| 1 replysame number called today with a local NJ area code. Left threat about a liability and said to call 855-396-2263
- jayA person called me this afternoon around 1 pm and asked to talk to my son. He wasn't home. The said they had an agreement with him to pay $300 today by 3pm as as the first installment on a bad debt that he had agreed to. and If it wasn't paid by 3PM court papers would be filed. They said it had come back as "declined." After asking them, the name they gave was Thomas King and Associates and their email was info@thomaskingllc.com. This all seemed fishy to me especially when they asked if "I could help him out." I told them I had no intention of paying them anything.
He hasn't worked in over a year and could very well owe the dept. They said it was from TD Bank. He could even have agreed to pay them something but I doubt it as he has no way of paying. They called me back an hour later giving me one more chance to help him out. They asked for his cell phone number and I hung up. I then looked the number up online and that is why I am here now. I can't wait to talk to him. - JMupdate- After you give them my name and number, be sure that you keep track of date and time if they call back. They won’t actually file suit because it will cost them money and they won’t spend the money for a filing fee and service of documents. There are likely defenses to any suit on those cards anyway. The party suing has the burden to prove that they are suing the correct person and there are time limits on their ability to collect after a debt is incurred. You are correct that there are no assets that they can collect from so these are not really threats that should be taken seriously except to explain the situation. Just give them my name and number and that will likely be the last you hear from them.
I gave my lawyer the "Thomas King" details. He called them and asked for MRS.JONES x154 and explained to her who he was
and who he was calling on behalf of.She hurriedly transferred the call to her superior whom she didn't name and HE said
that the account was closed and everything was taken care of.AMAZING.My original post was around 6/24/14 concerning
a deceased parent.Good luck everyone.I agree with the post that this must be a desperate and inept pretend business skip tracing the DECEASED.WHIP declares that he found this to be a legitimate business. It seems that they would be better served giving their employees some metal detectors and a "salted" sand box.Or wait for the next rainbow and climb it up
and over to find the Pot o'Gold.- Caller: Thomas King &Associates

- DawnI Received this call, I called the number back, it was a debt collector, they were looking for a relative. I told them I did not have the number because I was not in contact with this person. They asked me for other relatives numbers, I told them I did not any and this matter was not my business, he got angry with me and told me it was my business - at that point I hung up on him!

- ATLCalled from a local Atlanta number (404-800-6035) today and gave 855-396-2263 as a call back. Indicated that my SSN came up in a search as a liability and failure to respond would be "documented as uncooperative." Sounds like a complete scam to me.
- Tim replies to Desert Dudethomaskingassociates.com That's the website. They are a debt collector, but no need to worry if it's not you they're looking for. In my case they were looking for someone else. I believe these calls are tied to phone numbers. I changed my phone number to an IP phone and apparently someone had that number before me. When I called Thomas King & Assoc the person I spoke with didn't ask for my name. I assume she could see that I was calling from my home phone (the phone number in question). She said they were asking for a woman named Rosemary "xxxxxxxxx" and I told her that I don't know the person. She said no problem and she would remove my number from her list. We shall see.
All I'm saying is if you know it's not "you" they're looking for, give them a call so you can have your number removed from their list. You can ignore their calls, but they'll probably keep robocalling if you don't.
