I received a call from Jacob Reed at Longwood Inc regarding the car I have for sale on Craig's list. They are supposedly a 501C company.   I don't answer unknown numbers.  Thank you for the heads-up responses.  I won't be calling them back!

Gary is a scammer too. I Received a voice message from Jacob Reed about my car on craigslist. He said that he worked for Longwood Incorp and had buyers for my car. I returned the call and Gary answered and already wanted to know my visa/master card number and wanted to charge me 99 dollars because he had customers for my car already.

Same deal as everyone else, but I also have been getting daily calls from "Unknown" and if I actually answer they hang up. Point being, the auto dialer is programmed to hang up if it does not go to voice mail. Just an FYI for people also experiencing this.

Hell yes Gary must be a scammer, I got a call this morning from Jacob who left the same return number, returned the call on randomized line from work and it answered as a survey line for the army medical department.  Ha yeah, don't do business with anyone named Gary or Jacob apparently!

"jacob" has been calling me i told me I sold the car and they hung up, its funny though how he didnt have any information on the car. Not sure what they do but they left me alone after i said i sold it.

Got a voice mail from Jacob Reed today.  After reading the comments here, I don't think I'll bother returning his call.  I've modified my craigslist ad indicating I'd reply with my contact info if anyone responds to my ad.  I won't include e-mail or phone numbers in future ads.

We received a call from Jacob Reed, yesterday.  We are selling a motorcycle, so it seemed a little odd right from the beginning of his message when he mentioned our 'vehicle.'  We posted through the Want Ad Digest.  Glad I searched for Longwood 501(c)(3) and found all of this!!

Got a call from Jacob Reed this weekend, with the same kind of message everyone else described. I thought of digging the net before giving him a call back. It seems they always prefer to leave the voice message and you never get a chance to talk to Mr.Jacob!. I ha listed my car for sale in Craigslist a week back, probably there they got my number. i believe its a scam like anyone else, who usually send emails after you post ads on net.

Thanks to everyone on here I'm not going to call this person back. I recieved a call from a "Jacob Reed" this morning but did not answer because the caller ID said Unknown.
I had put my car for sale on Craig's list and in Auto Trader and he told me they were a nonprofit agency and he had a couple people interested in buying it, how is that when nobody came to see it?

Just received a message from Jacob Reeb at 866-326-0950.  I thought the message was weird and searched for the company name on line and found a website, but it didn't have much information on it, so I continued to search and saw this site with the posts regarding the identical messages I received.  Thank you everyone else who started reporting this!  I never even bothered to call him back.

Got a call from this company with only three digit 540 number (how this rang my phone makes me wonder). Anyway got the typical Jacob message and wow what a scam. Called and the rep said i am handling all the calls for jacob as he is in a meeting. What a joke. $199 for the premium services or $99 for a quick sell.

Do yourself a favor do not hand over any credit cards numbers to this company, I am pretty sure you'll be sorry.

I posted my car on craigslist and recieved 2 calls from jacob reed. He left 2 messages letting me know about what they offer. So I called and got on the line with a girl who told me they have 2 different plans to pick from. $199 with a 90 day money back guarantee and a $99 with a no money back guarantee. They require for you to make a payment up front and 'guarantee' to sell your car no matter what. I would gladly pay 200 after its been sold, but paying up front isnt something I would recommend anyone doing.

I posted a car for sale on Craigslist about a week ago and got a message from Jacob Reed on Monday.  Same thing, Longwood Inc, 501c3 co, etc.  If you do a search on the company name there is a Longwood Industries, Inc. that helps disabled people but no mention of cars and there is an auto listing site that has no cars on it.  Hopefully that means there has been no one stupid enough to fall for Jacob or Gary's come on.  I'm going to make a report to the FCC also and I guess my state attorney general--are any other places I should contact?  I'm from MA--Craigslist is certainly getting a bad rep with our Craigslist killer, etc.  Too bad, the web can be so helpful--look at this site!

What the heck! Why are they NOT shut down or pressed charges against yet??!! I have recieved 5!! phone calls from these people, they never left voice mails so i always ignored them, even though Im on a DO NOT CALL registry. Finally this morning i get a call from Jacob Reed. Longwood Incorporated. Please call me back 866-326-0950....... apparently they have been scamming for a while and have changed their number. When I called back, I got an Andrea!!!! She started telling me about it and I got excited as my car has been listed on Craigslist for a while now with 0 hits... and then she said I, ME, had to pay... and I said well now, that wont work at all now will it and I said, if you are so sure my car will sell, then why dont YOU come buy it and sell it yourself.... I was hung up on!!!

I have gotten 2 messages from Jacob Reed of Longwood Incorporated with a call back number of 866-326-0950. I've listed my car on multiple sites, including Craigslist. I guess this just follows the old saying "If it seems to good to be true, it usually is."

Received the call from "Jacob Reed" of Longwood Industries offering to match up a buyer for the vehicle we posted on Craig's List.  After some research I found that this service costs $99.  Our home number is on the national do not call registry and I resent that this "business" is getting around the law by using their 501(c)(3) status.  I am going to report them to the IRS and the local Roanoke, VA BBB.
