So, if he called you twice and you didn't call him back, how did you determine it was a scam?  Lots of assumptions on this company  when most of you people never actually spoke to them.

Barak Obama's campaign called me last fall.  I didn't call back.  Perhaps it's a scam, too.

For the past 4 days I have recieved a phone call from an unlisted number on my cell phone. The past 3 times I have answered each time there was a pause for a few seconds and then it would hang up. Today (5-15-09) I recieved the call again. I did not answer this time. The message that was left was a Brad from Longwood Inc. The message sounded recorded and he stated he had been trying to reach my for the past few days?. I always answer my phone. I forgot to mention I have a truck for sale that I listed last week on Autotrader. Brad stated he could sell my truck to interested 3rd parties for a "small percentage". Red flags and alarms were going off at this point and I searched the number that brad left on the internet and found mutiple pages of complaints and scams from the com pany called longwood inc. Be careful take a few minutes and ask questions and get to any computer and investigate things like this when you don't feel right about something. God Bless hope this helps someone. :)

Am selling a motorcycle on craigslist only, have received 4 calls in the last week from 'Jacob', last message sounded a bit short with me, as if I have a reason to call him back...

I received a message from Jacob Reed. He sounded like a complete nerd. I kind of want to call back to make fun of his dorky voice. Maybe I can get them to send me a physical application to give them my C/C info..... My fiance's step-dad received this same call a month ago asking for $199.00 to sell his car for his asking price. We did a quick Google search for him and found it was a scam. He almost fell for it. Don't be that guy!!

Has anyone any proof of actually being ripped off? I mean, yes, it sounds fishy because they ask for this money up front and I wouldn't likely give the cash up either but to label them a scam is a stretch.

The best of all about this is...  I received a call from Brad, not Jacob and I live in Canada and I am french speaking.  How in the world could they have people interested in my car 1000 miles away???  Sounded fishy enough for me a blocked id would call me and leave an english message on my cell.  I do not know if this is a scam, but I am sure they do not have the buyers they claim to have!

I received a call from Brad, not Jacob.  Same return phone number as you all.  But...  I live in Canada and I am french speaking.  How in the world could they have buyers for my car?  These guys have bots aggregating phone numbers from online ads about cars and just give em a call.  Having an english message on my cell from an unknown ID sounds more than fishy.  The best that could happen is getting ripped of only 100$ by doing business with them.

I received a call on 5-18-09 from "Brad".  He stated that he could sell my vehicle,(Advertised on Craig's List), for me.  Ha.  I have not called him back.  He gave the number as: 866-326-0950

This guy has been calling me for 5 days on my cell phone and when I answer he won't say anything, so when he called I said some swear words at the silence and a friend of mine standing next to me said he would kill whoever it was  "joke" next thing I know I get a text msg on my cell phone saying my friend couldnt kill him cause he didnt know who he was and that he was watching me!  Today I let it go to voicemail and the idiot left a message with his phone number

I think it is quite harsh to call them a scam off the bat. Has anyone even looked into thier business information?! Like for example, the BBB. I think it would be smart to check out a company before you completely bash them. I have used this company twice and both times sold my vehicle!!! Thanks!

If you were so worried about the english speaking message and everything being in english. You wrote this post in english.. seems to me you are just fine reading and relaying in english...

This company is NOT based in Nova Scotia.. The actual company that you are stating which is Longwood is based in Virginia and it does NOT cost money to call this company.

I got a voice message from Brad, it sounded like a recording. I did not talk to him in person. Has anyone actually talked to someone? I got a dirt bike on CL, no cars.

I just got a voicemail from "Brad" also.  Craigslist says that any buyer who offers a guarantee is probably scamming.  Also, I'd like to point out that Gary, or whoever it is, may have actually sold his car through the real Longwood Inc. but that doesn't mean that people calling and saying they're from the company are being honest.  It wouldn't be too difficult to set up a scam company and name it Longwood Inc. to associate themselves with a real place, and the numbers on the LI website don't match up with the numbers I've heard left in the voicemails from Brad or any of the other callers.

If you are on the no call list report them. I think they are playing the non-profit thing to skirt the system.

I posted a car on CL last week and have received at least 3 calls, I was out of contact for 3 days, and finally amessage from "Brad."  He told me that he would guarantee me a buyer for a small fee and I should call the 866-326-0950 ASAP.

Me thinks not!!
