recieved call, and did not answer.  I have a policy if I do not recognize the number or it is not in my phone book, I will not answer it.  If they do not leave a message it is not important.

Good way to avoid scams or any other unlawfull calling to a person on the Do Not Call List!!!!!!

Got a call from this number stating I have a $500 overcharged.. They gave me the last four of the account and its now mine. They asked information of me,, wouldn't give it, since a week ago I canceled my card due to someone stealing my identity. They said they would transfer me to the fraud department.. which never happen..  How can we find these people??

received a toll free call at 8:45 p.m.,  did not answer call.  If I am not familiar with number I do not answer.  No message was left.

I take care of a close friend who was diagnosed with a disease that will be fatal. He is totally and permanently disabled without any chance of recovery. His memory is fading, he has trouble speaking, and some days he has little idea what is happening around him. He has no money left in the bank and no assets. We contacted Capitol One to have his debt (about $3,000) discharged based on their disability clause. We were told that the only customers eligible for this were those who had signed onto this feature beforehand and paid the monthly fee. Asked what his options were we were told that he should sell some on his assets to pay the debt. We asked what happens after he dies and were told that the debt remains valid even after he dies and they have the right to sue his "estate" to collect the debt, plus lawyer and court fees.
  This man was a loyal customer of theirs for years, never once missed a payment. And if he had not become ill he would still be. Bankruptcy is not a realistic option as this is his only debt and the fees would be almost as much as the debt. When I answer the phone (they call a lot!) and they start making their threats I wish they could see what I see. A man curled up in bed with a blanket pulled over his head. Or sitting in his chair with this blank gaze out the window.
  I agree that people should pay their debts. But I also think that there are legitimate reasons when people should be released from these debts. And this is one of them. Here is a man who will never work again and through no fault of his own will never be able to pay this debt. Customers who meet certain criteria for disability and financial hardship, and this man certainly meets them, should have their debt forgiven, even if they have not signed onto the disability feature.

Have his phone number changed to an unlisted number. As his caregiver, I would do whatever is necessary to preserve his dignity (apparently Capitol One has no respect for that, either) during his final days. In other words: Do what you have to do and let them do the same.

I answered and thew message was hold the line for a very inportant phone call. I hung up and called back and got a recording that it was Capital One which I don't believe.

I've gotten numerous calls from collection agencies looking for a "Kathleen Foley" on and off for two years now, patiently explaining over and over again that we've had this phone number since 2005 and there is no one by that name connected to us.  Our number is not unlisted; a reverse lookup shows my husband's name, not "Foley," but they keep on calling.

 Just got a call again now from the above number, 10 am on Sunday morning, a man's voice saying "Kathy?" which I guess was an attempt to get Ms Foley to slip and say "yes," but since that's not my name, I said "wrong number."  As usual, I'm promised my number will be removed within 48 hours, but I "may" get more within that time (today's call was the FIFTH from various numbers in the last 3 days).  I don't think it will ever stop.

I don't even have capatial one! they won't stop calling, they asked for Brandon and I told them that there was no one here with that name. They still continue to call 6 times a day

I am on the no call list, the calls keep coming, hang up when I answer, all hours of the day and night.

Capitol One sucks anyway.  I ordered CigArrest and have been receiving calls ever since.  My phone plan (land line) allows me to block them now.

This guy with a Hispanic sounding accent called my number.  Said he was calling on behalf of Capitol One and was looking for my mother to collect a debt.  I explained to him that she is in a nursing home and that I was her daughter and she has never lived at my address.  He was hateful and was asking who was in charge of paying her bills.  I explained to him that the nursing home gets practically all of her small social security check and she had no other income and couldn't pay it.  He just kept on badgering me.  He wanted to know if he could speak with my mom.  I told him, how many times do I have to tell you she is in a nursing home and you cannot speak to her, that she is 75 years old.  He had the nerve to tell me that 75 was not old.  I said, well, tell that to my mom who has multiple health conditions.  By then, I was absolutely furious.  I also told him that I was not responsible for her bills and to never call my number again.  He stated the calls would continue until the debt was collected.  I told him, no, they wouldn't.  Don't know who to report it to.  I want to sue the ba**tards.  Maybe Capitol One and crooks like them should think twice before they issue credit cards to elderly people who are on a very limited, fixed income.  They get what they deserve.  My mom was paying on her bill till she became incapacitated and had to enter the nursing home.

Oh, I want to know how Capitol One got my phone number in the first place when they were looking for my mom.  Any ideas?

I get calls from this number, no message. I've never had a credit card. Even though I have an answering machine so can screen calls, and don't answer if I don't know who it is and why, and I'm on the Do Not Call List (I guess toll free numbers are exampt) it gets annoying. I don't think a day goes by without getting at least one, u sually more. From various numbers. Sometimes I get them on my cell phone and answer and tell them to stop calling my cell phone (I don't use the number or give it out) and they hang up on me. (One is about government rates on mortgages changing and they can get my mortgage refinanced. I don't have a mortgage). Recently I learned I could put my cell phone number on the Do Not Call List, too so have done that.

This is a collection agency representing Capitol One -- don't be fooled by those saying it is a phishing scam (probably one of their collectors posted this). They also use 972-378-4101 and 866-929-5307. I am suing them and have filed action against them with FTC, BBB, and the Texas and Connecticut attorney generals. I hope to close them down via punitive damages and additional civil lawsuits that will cost them even more.

Yes, this is Capital One Bank. But I wish they would just leave a message stating what they want. This constant calling is really annoying..they call both my cell AND my home phone. If they would state their business, I could retunr their call.

I have received calls from this number because my daughter used our number as a reference when she originally filled out forms for Capitol One.  I will NOT answer these calls!

Receive multiple calls daily from this number.  Mostly we don't answer but since we keep getting these calls we have tried answering in an effort to ask them to quit calling. But no one speaks.

Unsolicited call

I have gotten calls from 866-381-0453 and the person from that number was trying to reach a relative of mine. I told them my number was not the relatives number but that I would give them the message to call the number I was given which was 1-800-955-6600 ( Capital One ). This was the second call in two days from the 866 number, the lady told me she would mark our number as a wrong number and after 24 hours I should not be receiving anymore calls. To make sure I would not be getting anymore calls from that number I blocked it on my phone. Hooray for technology!!!

This morons, do not understand that I do not have any credit cards.  Have tried to not answer the phone, but I do not want to get a job and have my phone ringing at unwanted times.  So have attempted to answer the phone, but nobody is there, how am I suppose to stop the calls?????
