- HeatherLeft 7 messages on my machine asking for me but with my maiden name. Said by listening to the message you acknowledge that you are who they are asking for. This is an attempt to collect a debt (which I do not have any left).

- dubyaYeah, they called my number today. I just got this number, so not many people outside of family have it. And I don't have any debt anyway.
- james b| 3 replieskeep getting call from 8668609153 asking for J B and my last name, i did answer and got a recording, asked if i was that person, press 1, if not, press 2, then i hung up. I went looking for the owner of that number and it's a La Femme company, i called the number from my cell phone and it was answered LA Recovery, and others have it as Steller Collection.
What gives, can they have this many businesses on the sdame number?
Can't our government do their job they are paid to do? I am on the do not call list and they persist.
I do not owe these people anything. If I did, I'd tell them where to stick it and hang up.
Why can't I block their calls? I pay for call blocking, but have been advised it's for local numbers only, this is stupid.
Maybe O'bama can do something about it, he's head knocker now.- Caller: not shown

- it's not me!I'm trying to get to the bottom of this number. I've received dozens of calls over the last two months from people telling me that I'm calling and leaving them messages. I'm not!!! My phone number is similiar to this number, but I have an area code and it's not a toll free number. I'm not sure how people keep getting me. My phone company hasn't been much help. I'm sorry you're getting harrassed people, but it's not me!!
- memmejust got a call from this number. asked for angela.
- Gene replies to james b| 1 replyWhy cant you people understand that the do not call registry has nothing to do with Collection Calls!!!!!!! It will do you no good to be on that list if you are trying to avoid these calls. Do not call only covers solicitation calls and these are collection calls. Next time they call ask to not be called again. If they persist send them a certified letter asking them to not contact you again. 9 times out of 10 this is enough to make them stop.
- Richardunsolicited call to my cell phone; automated call; toll-free number in caller-id is unlisted.
- Richard replies to GeneIt is NOT O.K. to mass dial EVERY AT&T wireless customer in Lexington, KY in order to find one person. Regarding another case, it is also very uncool to persist in calling an office after being repeatedly informed that the person they are trying to reach is DEAD.
Real debt collectors/mediators have very strict regulations and guidelines, and they are not allowed to randomly or sequentially dial cell phone numbers. - Frank Nolan replies to SuzyQI have got the same call exceot mine has been a collect call. It probably a scammer wanting some kind of personal payment info...
- Frank Nolan replies to james bI posted a call that I got from the same number as you but mine was a collect call and if it wsere frank nolan press one and if not press two and if I am correct I heard something on the news about this being a scam from a jail some where that when u press one or two then they can continously make toll calls thru you number, I get the last laugh cause I use magic jack and u can not charge or take collect calls....lol Hope this scam stops soon but I am sure when it does they will figure out another on...Just think how successful they could be if they used their Brain in More constructive work....I would think u have to be very smart to figure these things out...
thanks and good luck - Tim| 12 repliesI work for Stellar Recovery! People like "FRANK" are confused about a few things. Because a debt has been charged off even 20 years ago, does not mean that us calling is illegal by any means. Its a valid debt! The only thing the stature of limitations protects you "DEBTORS" from is being taken to court, or showing a fresh judgment on your credit report. If your going to act like a know it all maybe you should get the FACTS straight first before making yourself look like a TOOL over the internet. Look into the FDCPA - Fair Debt Collections Practices Act and the FTC - Federal Trade Commission (Who Regulates The FDCPA). Im serious people, treat the collectors with respect. It's not our fault you never paid your bill and it whent to collections and was re-sold a few times because you've managed to dodge it long enough for "STATS" to protect you from your own mistake. Collectors have the ability to legal call until the matter is resolved. I suggest 2 options. 1. Pay the bill (You can even request 20% to 40% settlements and most will work with you) Or 2. Send a letter to the agency requesting to either only be contacted by mail or a C&A letter (Requesting to never be contacted again, which is bad esp. w/recent debt to where they could make decisions regarding collection steps without having to legally notify you). In reality resolving these matters is terribly simple. The worst thing you can do is sit back on your couch all day, watching judge judy and starring at your Caller I.D counting how many times the Agency has called. I mean seriously? Get a life. And to you FRANK, Next time you think your informing and helping these people on WhoCallsMe.com, make sure you have your facts straight before they end up hiring a lawyer and losing a case to one of our brilliant lawyers in court. Good Day And PAY YOUR BILL!

- Brian is a dumb*ss| 2 repliesI've been a victim of credit fraud before so I was nervous when I received a call from a collection agency. After reading the comments above, I thought I probably shouldn't call but it couldn't hurt to speak to someone. I spoke with Brian at Stellar Recovery. It sounded like a scam from the beginning because Brian couldn't form an intelligent thought; not exactly professional. The debt was from November 2001 for Excel cellular. When I told him it wasn't a debt of mine, he said that he would send me a letter stating what the debt was and when the account was opened with information on how to dispute it. Then he said "Oh we don't have an address for you on file." After I told him where to put his debt, he get very defensive and said "Well ma'am you can't dispute it if we don't have your address." Well that's unfortunate for them. A real collection agency would already have all of your information.
If you disputed an actual debt, the collection agency would direct you to contact the three credit bureaus (Experian, Exquifax and TransUnion). They would also ask you to forward copies of your credit reports and possibly to report it to the police.- Caller: Stellar Recovery

- JD OHSame thing - this number calls our house at least 2-3x per month. No debts owed here. This has to be a total scam. If you owed a debt they would use the mail AND the phone.

- meboyI received my first call from this company earlier today with the same bs message as reported above looking for Sherry McD-----. Previously I had been bombarded with calls from First Revenue Corp. looking for the same person. I do not know the person being called for. It seemed with First Revenue the more angry, vulgar, and abusive I became, the more they called. I did call back to Stellar whose message is strikingly similar to the previous First Revenue, perhaps the companies are related. My conversation with the "customer service person" went something like this: "Please listen very carefully as I will be courteous this time only. I do not know this person. If you continue to call I will become very vulgar and abusive." The lady said she will remove my number from the person's name, but it make 24 to 48 hrs, so you'll have to be patient with us. I raised my voice and stated again "If you call me again", and hung up.
Oh and to hot shot Tim who works for Stellar... call me personally and I'll give detailed directions to my front door in backwoods bumphuct northwest Pa. so your brillant lawyer can contact me.- Caller: Stellar Recovery
