- ladybutterfly replies to ladybutterflyNow I've seen there address but it looks like you couldn't find there offices. lol. what kind of company are they?
- PThey have to pay for them if you call them back because it is a prepaid number. so no cost to you but a cost to them. If everyone called them ten consecutive times then way they do us, then you could sharply hamper their business. I called them 20 times and hung up and they got so irritated. It gave me a thrill.
- DL| 1 replyIf these people harrass you, call them back and tie up their phone lines. Call them back again and again and let them know how it feels to be harrassed on the phone. there are only about 8 people there taking calls. If we all keep calling them it will cost them money and make them change their harrassing practices.
They called me again and again even after I told them not to call, that is illeagal. And the person they were looking for was not at my address.- Caller: Starrar Recovery Inc
- Call type: Debt collector
- DL replies to StacyCall these scumbags again and again. it worked for me. It will tie up their phone lines and cost them money.
- DJ replies to k.wWTF!! THEY CAN'T LEAVE AN 800 NUMBER? They called on a debt that is well over 4 years old and in California that makes that debt noncollectable!!!! Learn the law for your state and file charges for harassment.
- ZThey are legit. If you talk to them they will tell you what you owe from some ancient bill. Mine was from a major company who set aside all overdue accounts 4 years ago and just recently sold them off to Stellar Recovery. Scummy, yes, but I definitely had an overdue bill I was hoping someone had forgotten about.

- Finish replies to MikeSo how would you suggest I go about paying my debt off to this company?
- The laughing manI like them calling! They waste their time with my computer answering system. I never hear the calls because my system screens the call and the phones never ring.
It's easy to find out who owns the place and where they live. Then maybe calling back and asking for info on why they call to their home phone will be good! You always want to show concern for your alleged "debts" ..... Right?- Caller: Stellar Recovery

- M* replies to MikeThanks Mike for your honesty and time put into posting this...I too worked at a recovery company once just for the paycheck until I realized the scam in all of it. Your disclosure of Stellar Recovery information is much appreciated to those of us receiving calls from them!
- not intrested replies to k.woh, your post sounds just like they do are you the one who is always nasty on the phone??
- Jen replies to k.wCompanies like this one do not obey collection regulations. There are scams involved and people should be careful about giving out information. It is against collection law to call at 1, 2, and even 3 in the morning. This constitutes harassment and grounds for legal action.
- Jen replies to Educated Consumer| 6 repliesThis is harassment if a debt is not owed. There is no reason to call an individual who does not owe money or have any affiliation with the "person" who is said to owe money.
- Lovingly fee replies to Jen| 5 repliesI used to work at an agency, and it is very legal to call relatives, friends etc to look for the person ... If you are advised its a wrong number , then they remove it.. No one sitting at a collection agency wants to call the same numbers over and over for no reason.. just ask them to remove the number, they are human beings just like you.. No one deserves to be treated rudely .... You or them... Respect goes both ways .. And remember collections is not customer service.. No where close, however I believe they ( and you) should always treat each other respectfully.. the law also states once told as wrong number they have one more attempt before it is illegal to call again ( in most states, that is).. And another point, all states have different laws... Just use common sense, and if they are breaking the laws hold them accountable , otherwise if its you that owes, find a way to legitimately pay it back... That simple.
- Karen HydeContinues to harrass
- Caller: Stella recovery inc
- Panda replies to TimWhat company does your company represent? I see it says I owe $95 dollars, for what? I just want to know who you work through and why I was not sent any letters or anything saying that I owe this amount. I love how companies will just send something to collections agencies without even trying to contact you saying you owe anything.
- MarkCalling on the debt of my dead mother. Too bad I don't owe on it...even if they think I do.
- Call type: Debt collector
- Truth replies to phone| 1 replyWhen accounts change hands from one agency to another the new company isn't supplied with the notes from previous agency. They have no clue the number is bad.. this is a goverment issue not the collection agency. They are prohibited from sharing info with one another
