They started calling me. Don't know what they are calling about, don't care. If they can't be bothered to send a letter with all the information, then I can't be bothered with them. - M.G. replies to M.G.Incidentally, they evidently have been sued in Federal Court an astonishing number of times for violations of the Fair Credit Act, so it may be worth it for some of you to engage a lawyer and see if you have any grounds for legal action against them. From what I understand, they are a pretty sleazy company.
- Jasoncalled me and i have never heard of them.

- DeedeeStellar Recovery may be a relatively small debt collection agency, but they've made a fairly big splash in the federal court system. That's because Stellar Recovery has been sued over a dozen times within the past year for allegedly violating the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act. They are a third-party debt collection agency, collecting on behalf of a variety of clients in the utilities, retail, financial services, and telecommunications industries. Stellar Recovery also collects on what are termed “auto deficiencies,” where a consumer might sell a vehicle for less than the amount owed. It also deals in payday loan collection and collections on behalf of debt buyers.
Stop Stellar Recovery Harassment
There are a variety of practices prohibited by the federal Fair Debt Collection Practices Act. The FDPCA has declared that any form of harassment by a debt collection agency - like placing repeated phone calls, calling at odd hours, sending threatening emails, and harassing friends, neighbors and family members - is illegal. Stellar Recovery collects three types of debt that are notorious for leading to abuse - payday loans, auto deficiencies, and debt purchased by debt buyers.

Are you this stupid?? We can lookup information...look at the next entry by deedee....it provides a ball park figure of all the LAWSUITS against STELLAR!! It's time for you to grow up...your very ignorant - phone replies to Educated Consumer| 2 repliesIf they actually remove your number, why do you "always" have to call them asking them to remove your number. I think we know who Educated Comsumer works for.
- deedee replies to Mike@Mike thank you for that info the funny thing is that if I had talked to you the conversation with stellar would have ended very differently. Most people just want facts and be treated with respect.
- 1234 replies to non yourI just got off the phone with them and the lady was very rude and did not want to work with me. I asked her to send me a letter to see what the charges were from T-mobile and she wouldn't unless I gave her my checking account or debit card information so that they can collect the money owed. She didn't listen to a word I said on how T-mobile messed up on my plan before I moved and was dinged a lot of roaming charges. Before this went to Stellar Recovery, it was sent to Pinnacle Financial and they failed to send me correspondence to me so that I will have record of whom I'm making a payment to. On my credit report it showed a balance of $352 and I settled with Pinnacle for $195, but they never sent me anything. Now this lady from SR is threatening me to send me to pre-litigation and was being a "smart ass" about it. If anyone has any information on how to handle this, please let me know. Thanks.
- Stacy replies to W.T.They have NO raiting by the BBB and are not even accredited by them.
- Stacy| 1 replyStellar Recovery has been harrassing a family member who has been the victim of identity theft and who is not repsonsbile for the alleged debt they continue to call about...he has never owned that type of credit card nor lived at any of the addresses they list, not even in the same STATE. My relative joined a credit protection agency since the harrassment began and over the weekend an application for credit was filled out by Stellar Recovery THEMSELVES. They could very well be the original perpetrators of the supposed credit card debt in question in the first place. It's a scam. Sleazy company. I read an article that was written about the company moving its headquarters to FL, sounds like they're playing the dogding game. It's also been brought to my attention that they float under two or three different company names. The CEO used to be in charge of a larger debt collection company that he "sold" back in 1999 and has been having trouble getting this particular company off the ground (used to have a supposed 750 employees working for him, now has 75 to 100). No BBB accrediation and innumerable complaints with the FTC and Attorneys General. Perhaps a Stellar employee will respond to this post with their nonsense but my goal is to make sure their scams stop, first with my family and then onto others. Currently an attorney in Texas is compiling information for a lawsuit...looks like they're taking advantage of people nationwide.

(May not do any good... but at least they'll be on record!)- Caller: Stellar Recovery Services
- Call type: Debt collector
- shawnReceived a call from this collection agency on Monday. Called them back today.
The "debt" is for a Comcast account that was created in mid-December, cancelled & equipment returned to Comcast within the 30-day money-back guarantee window. Comcast sent the "debt" to collection instead of honoring their own 30-day guarantee.
The person from Stellar Recovery was understanding (not as rude and useless as other's I've talked to), and after updating my address in the file and ensuring a notice will be sent to the correct address, she suggested I contact Comcast (800-comcast) to have the collection terminated.- Caller: stellar recovery
