The only thing you can do is wait, change your number, or give them a skype number to call. Write in and give then the new number in writing. After 180 days since the last "activity" they are REQUIRED BY FEDERAL LAW to write off the account. Until then, the FDCPA does not apply to an original creditor like Capital Zero, err, I mean Capital One.

Receive several calls a day from this number. Usually don't answer. Answered today and they asked for my dad who does not live with me. Said they are trying to collect on a bad debt and asked for my social security number. My dad does not have an account with Capital One nor do I. If this is a scam who do I report it to?

Got a call today from this number.  Asked for my dad.  Told him he is deceased (which is true -- he passed away last June).  They actually laughed and said nice try.  So I gave them the number to the cemetery where Dad is buried.

We came across another phone number on these tax payer bailed out thugs and crooks after they started terrorizing our family and refused to stop, even after showing we DO NOT HAVE AN ACCOUNT WITH THEM!  This number was listed on another web site dealing with Domestic War against America Citizens.

This takes you directly to one of their little Legal Pukes where you can return the harassment they are perpetrating toward your family.  We started calling this little puke right after each harassing call was made to us.  It said to stop calling because we were harassing it.  The nerve of these [***].  We said fine!  Sue us and take us to court because we would love to discuss what is going on in open court.  It hung up on us.  After this continued for 5 days, the 8 month long Capital One attack on this American Family stopped, or has for now.

Don’t count on the law or politicians to stop the war on your family by the filth at Capital One because they are all in bed together (remember the $Billions$ of your money the Gov freely gave them!).  They are all in bed together, laughing at you and me each night when they all get together for fine wine and steaks on your bill or Business Jet trips to Las Vegas for Gambling and Wholes also on your bill.  You have to take their War back to them and take matters into your own hands. Turn the war waged on your family by Capital One back on them and call the above Capital One puke each time they call you.

This number consistently calls us. Even on Sunday mornings before 8:30 Am. I don't own a capital one card and there is no one in my household that does either, have told them repeatedly to take my number off their call number but, it still has not happened. Getting aggravated at the annoyances of this.

They call constantly on my second line I use for faxing.  I never pick up because I believe they are a soliciter.

They first stared calling my home number (I never answered), then they started calling my work number (told them not to call my place of business), then they somehow got my cell number and started calling it....  Here's the kicker, they had their folks call me on their personal cell phones...  I told them very inappropriae and to not do that, thank you....  They don't care about people's situation in trying to deal with thier obligations, all they want is their payment...

i answerd one of the MANY times they have called... and they were looking for someone i dont even know... i told them that i dont know who they are and that they are not at this number... and the lady on the other end was like do u know where we can reach her? I JUST SAID I DONT KNOW WHO THEY ARE! then she was like ok well the calls WILL continue at this number...

stupid captial one...  and i dont even have an account with them!!!!!!! if ur in the same situation as me just call the number back hit 0 and wait.... they will answer.. and then tell them that they are calling you and that you need it to stop... they "said" they would take my number off the calling list....

Wow!!  That's a great idea.  Now, if I only spoke another language...perhaps I'll try piglatin!!  It's worth a shot.  :-)

Been getting calls from this number as well as x5306. I don't have any account with Capitol One! Filing a complaint with the FCC.

recv'd call from this number today-- did not answer. IT IS SUNDAY MORNING. jeez. they have been calling often. also leaving a message: this is Linda from capital one, we have some opportunities for you. I somehow really don't believe it _is_ capital one and i will not be calling back.

For the last two months have received multiple phone calls from 6 am to 9 pm, claiming to be representatives of Capitol One wanting information and payments for money they say that is owed. Have not used card since 2007 and was cancelled June 9, 2009. Have repeatedly asked that they remove me and not call again, but they refuse to. Have reported the calls to Capitol One, the real company.

Apparently this is Capital One, and they are harassment artists from the the dark ages of collections.

They call from many numbers and I will post those too.

I told them they had the wrong person, they asked if my birth date was such and such, and I told them no. Yet they still call many times daily even though they know for sure they have the wrong person.

Capital One received $3.56 billion of taxpayer bailout funds. So the harassment comes courtesy of President Obama. He should have just let Capital One fail.

i am constently getting calls from this number and several different numbers. they say that they are capital one.  my cell number is on the federal do not call list.  i called the number back today and told them to put me on their internal do not call registry that i do not have an account with them nor do i want one.  i told them if they did not do this i would file harrassment charges against them. i also told them i was on the federal DNC. the gentleman who was deffinitely foriegn said it would take about 48 hours for my number to be removed.  i also told him to remove it from every number they call from.  he then tried to get me to sign up with them.  this is pathetic, they must be hurting for business.  i am also going to check my cell bill when it comes to make sure i was not charged for this call.  if i do get charged, i'll have someone's head on a silver platter.
