They called I think for the first time.  But the weird thing is that they asked for  my old girlfriend from 13 years ago!!  The woman confirmed that she had dialed my number and asked me if I knew her.  I said I didn't because it was none of my business.  My question is how would they link my current number with a person I have not seen in 13 years and this is the third number I have had since then?

This people have called me repeatedly.  When I answer no one is there.  I call them back and get the recording asking for my account number or social security number.  My response is always F_ _ _ K you!!!!!   I have told them 3 times not to call me.  I'm going to report them.  I've had enough!!!

Every sunday AM I am called with them asking to speak to my ex-husband of 20 years.  I tell them he does not live at this residence ( I am remarried).

Also he died 3 months ago.  The first call I got from these parasites I told them he never lived here and he is dead.  The genius on the other end asked for the # where he could be reached...I told the foreign lady his # is 1-800-HES DEAD.  When she started asking how i knew him I hung up.
My next step is to call my phone provider and try to have this number blocked!

This is great - I called this number over and over again just to see how they like.  Of course, I blocked my number so they don't know where the call comes from.  I too do not have an account with them and they call non-stop all day.  It's very annoying as I work from home and it's very disruptive.  Generally, I just pick up the phone and hang up.

I get calls from this number 5-6 times a day, and very early in the morning. They do leave a message but its cut off. Im up to date on my credit bill so. Capital one needs to fix this garbage!

I too am getting these calls (just got one 7:52pm CST) and have placed them on the no call list as well, but can't keep up with the different numbers. EVERYONE LISTEN UP....you want them to leave you alone.....GET A WHISTLE...BLOW IT HARD AND LONG when you answer the phone (reported to give them a good ear ringing) and I'd say that ought to do it....I'm gonna do it next call I get.

I see this number on my caller id all the time. I answered once and nobody said anything. I called it back and it's Captial One. I had an account with them about 6 months ago and paid it off and closed the account. The guy I talked to said he can see I no longer have an account with them and doesn't know why they keep calling me. I'm on the DO NOT CALL LIST... and told him to not call me again for any reason. He said it will take 2 days to process, but I will not receive any more calls.

received call from this number on 9/28/09. i wasn't home to answer, but from this blog i guess i can assume its capital one.  I and no family has ever had a capital one card, so i don't get why they would call us. Although I am beyond annoyed of getting calls from debt collection agency looking for people I didn't even know exist. Just today i got a call from Capital one from a different number looking for someone i didn't know.

Says they are Capitol One and you're behind on your payment

I just started getting these calls.

I don't even have a credit card.
Unless the number I have is recycled.
But, it just recently started happening.
I had a lady call me the other day from a different 800 number asking for somone named Lana or something like that, I told  her she had the wrong number. Then she asked for somone else, I repeated the same answer. I nicely told her sorry and as I was hanging up, she asked for someone else. Strange.

Capital one keeps calling me because they have the wrong number for someone with an overdue balance.  I have explained to them that I am not this person, they thank me and keep calling over and over and over.  Sometimes they just hangup.  They never leave messages.I had to lie to them and tell them I was that person so they would tell me what the call was about.  This is obnoxious and a very poor business practice.  I am at my breaking point with this.  I would never do business with Capital one because of sleezy practices like this.  They have called many times and jut hung up at all hours of the day and night.  This is harrassing.

I don't even own a credit card. Go figure. I wish they'd stop calling me.

All they leave is the message from "this is Linda..." several of times per day.  not per week, per day i get at least 4 times the same annoying message from capital one.  And now they are bothering my work line several times a day as well.

The is Capital One calling for someone who has never lived at this number.  They kept inssiting that I give them information on this person.  I don't have any.  I informed them that I was recording the conversation since they kept calling and the person didn't even live here and they said that since they don't agree to my recording the conversation, they would not take my number off there list. I insisted that they tke my number off again but they refused unless I quit recording.  I wouldn't so, they wouldn't.  They keep calling.

My income is half what it was, i call them once a month to work out a deal to pay off the card,and they will not work with me,  why does the gov't give my tax dollars to banks like BofA wells Fargo, and illegals and i'm getting screwed!!!!

They call me for family memebers who i don't speak to or who i have divorced over 15 years ago.  Good luck all

This number keeps calling me, but it only rings once. They dont give me a chance to answer even if i wanted to. But if i do ever get to talk to them, I will tell them that they were bailed out by tax payers with the banks getting billions in stimulus. So, essentially they got their money back for my debt, and by me not paying my credit card debt to Capital One that that was MY bailout. End of story, period and thats all folks!

I have been receiving calls on my cell phone from these two numbers.  I tried to explain that we do not have a Capitol One account but, to no avail. However, I did a stupid thing and gave them my husbands Social Sec # for them to check.  They found nothing in their records and said call will stop 24-48 hours.  Now I worry about giving them that number.

this number calls me everyday, at random times. I only answered once just to see who the heck it was, but they said nothing. so i blocked it, and somehow it just called me again two minutes ago...
