Just got charged 59.95 for Active membership....no idea what this was...called credit card company and they said it was a fraud.  Cancelled card and got credit

Just got off the phone with Active and they have refunded my "Membership"  fee of 64 $cdn   which at the time was 54$us... Now I am stiffed for the exchange because cnd and us are at par... The tactics they use to "enroll" members is very common in the states.. NOT ALLOWED IN CANADA... Thanks to this site I was able to pick up on this charge and get it resolved... Cheers!

My wife just signed up for a run and sure enough we got charged this "extra" fee too.  Sat on hold for about 30 minutes but the nice receptionist refunded our money. I lost a few dollars as the Canadian exchange rate changed but it's better then $60.00.   Thank you to all those who posted on this site.  Very Helpful!!

Same thing here - sat on hold for a long time, but would not hangup.  The gentlemen who answered was very nice and refunded my money - but still - should have to go through this.  Scary scary - you must always look at your charges.  Unfortunately, this is the only time this has happened to my husband and I (I will periodically shop on line).  This is approximately the fourth time in a year that we had to call to get a bogus charge off our credit card - all different scamming companies.

I just had a $59.95 charge on my debit card account and looked up the phone number and found a link to this site, and thanks to all of your comments, I was able to figure out that, after signing up for a 5K, my husband didn't uncheck the box that made this charge happen.  I was happy to realize, however, that after calling the listed number, the lady gladly and easily refunded my $60.  IT IS WORTH THE $60 TO MAKE THIS PHONE CALL!!!!

I'm glad i found this site. I just noticed the $59.95 charge today. I will call to get my refund.

Signed up for a Cape Cod half-marathon, only to find a $59.95 charge on my debit card a month and a half later. Tried calling Active.com today to dispute it, but they are closed until Monday. Hopefully they will refund me!

I also received the $59.95 on my visa card. Try to call them but they say they are closed after 8:00 pm. I will try the call tomorrow again. I am glad I found this site.

I signed up for the Jail Break race and received a $59.95 charge about a month after the charge for the race went through.  It's a scam from Active.com.  I can't get through.  Never doing business with that piece-of-crap company again.

I got a charge to for a random amount. these guys are also a third party processors for some companies. mine came for 27.25 but turns out they process credit cards for the city where i went to their golf course. lady was nice, and explained it to me.

I signed up to run in a half-marathon...shortly thereafter a found a $100 charge that I didn't recognize.  It had "ACT" next to it.  I called them up and they blamed it on someone else and wanted my credit card number.  I told them no chance, then called my bank.  Bank took care of it and said the charge will be refunded the next day.

I also saw this same notice in my bank statement. How do I go about getting my money back? I had registered for a 5k run.

I was charged twice last months, $50 and $20. Unlike others who registered at active.com, I didn't even know this website until the charges showed up on my credit card bills. Disputed through citi card.

just got charged with $27 on my card.. I never registered with Active.com ... Called the number... they are closed on week ends.. will follow up on Monday...

I paid for my son's summer camp last week and find out today that they didn't get the payment. After checking my bank account this number showed up as where the payment went to. My summer camp has been made aware of this and said that I wasn't the only one this happened to. So much for being a secure website to make payments on.

Never paying for another race through this company.  I even opted out of the hidden membership and still got $59 Charge for a $12 race.

When my husband played golf at a Little Rock course, this was what the charge looked like on our banking statement.

YEP! Act registration.but really it"s active.com. Got me for 35.50.Hey maybe some regulations are good! This is not an honorable organization!

Just found the same $59.95 with no description other then active and the phone # 877-228-4881.

I'm calling to figure out what's going on, hopefully it's just the same deal as below and they'll refund my $$.  I don't like this hidden membership thing and will be thinking twice before signing up for anything from Active.com again.  What a SCAM!
