- tails4youI saw an unknown amount of $51.62 on my a/c - called the number and they're a 3rd party biller for our local city aquatic center. Was in a bit of a panic at first as we have been a victim of fraud in the past - all turned out well with this call. Evidently they support many organizations for billing.
- THEOC94Read all the comments of most of them, and i never signed up for any active sport, running, jumping what have you, however I noticed today my checking account was charged $150.00 I called the 877 number and it states that it's "Active" something, and now looking here, I see that it's basically FRAUD! I will be reporting this company!

- Jacked in LouisianaI am a resident of Louisiana and registered for the Crescent City Classic Online and also received a bill for $59.95. I tried to go into their website to cancel this "subscription" and my e-mail isn't even registered. Will never do this again!!!

- AnnettekThis phone number is legitimate in my case. The mystery charge on my AmEx card turned out to be a $25 donation we made to a marathon run by a friend. I guess I'll watch to see if they come back with a membership charge.
- solved replies to LaurenEasier number to call and cancel: 1-866-561-0647
- Kris| 1 replyI also got this charge. I just called the number asked to have the membership canceled and the charge removed. No questions asked and all was taken care of quickly!
- Caller: active
- bwl replies to PhredI also just saw $50 on my credit card and called my CC company and deleted it.
- kevI received it! thanks a lot, i'll get refund now, it is so strange and tricky!!! i even didn't receive any call or know the activecom!!
- Peter WFound a $15.00 charge on my debt card with this phone number. I have never payed anyone for any 5k run or marathon or anything like that. I just got this new card about 6 months ago and never used it for on-line shopping. No idea how they got my info but I guess they got smart about the $59.95 and $115 and started charging smaller amounts in the hopes that fewer people would notice.
- Caller: Active.com
- ezamIt's not a total scam. I had a $20 charge from ACT, but it was followed by an asterisk and my city's name. I called. Turns out it's the charge for swim lessons for my kids. Apparently, Active has a software that many rec centers use and so that's how it turns up. No biggie.
- AngryRidiculous - I signed my son up for a basketball league and now this company is charging me $59.95 a month using that same credit card. This really needs to be stopped!
- Call type: Telemarketer
- tecActive.com charged me for $59.95 membership fee when I registered for the Beaufort River Swim. I did not authorized Active.com to charge me for the membership. They are unethically fraudulent.
- Roberto VasquezI just called because I had a $12.00 charge on my card and did not recognize the description as to who was charging me. Turns out that it was for a local Golf Driving Range.
This company, Active.com processes the payments for sporting venues. In this case, $12 for a bucket of golf balls and a drive.- Caller: Active.com
- yoHave a charge on my credit card for $200 and it is listed as ACT*lstarssc 877-228-4881 CA....wtf?! Sounds like this company is frauding lots of people. I'm disputing the charge, changing my credit card, and finding a way to punish this company

- Angie replies to PhredI registered through active.com recently for a 10K and charge went through on my debit account in the amount of 59.95. I called 877 228 4881 and sent an email to activeadvantage@active.com. They said that they would refund me the money to my bank account within 3-5 days.
What a bunch of BS! - AlexAfter reading through the comments here (thanks everyone!) I called the number (877-228-4881) and pressed 2, then 1 and got a hold of a guy right away. He said he would refund the charge with no problem. I asked him if they had charged me before, since I signed up for a triathlon with active.com more than a year ago and he said that they did indeed charge me before and that it would be no problem to refund that as well. He said it would take about 4 business days to go through. My call was only 3 minutes long. Totally worth it for the $120 back! Good luck everyone!
- Zac| 1 replyThis is the part of the registration where they ask you if you want the free ActiveAdvantage offer (I have blacked out my personally identifiable information):
http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y131/zhinz/active.png
Down at the bottom, they detail that it is free for one year, and if you don't cancel it, it is $59.95 per year after that. If you don't want to join it, you click No Thanks instead of clicking Yes. If you clicked Yes to something without reading it, then I have no sympathy for you. - Nate replies to michael| 1 replyIt is a membership fee. The interesting thing is when they answer the phone from the # provided they say "Are you calling to dispute a $59.95 charge on your credit card". They don't even attempt to explain what the membership was for. Crappy way to do business, and I won't be signing up with Active in the future.
- ScottI signed my kid up for flag football via the league website, which uses active.com for registration/collection. $128.50 showed up on my credit card -- perfectly legit. Check to make sure you didn't recently sign up for baseball, football, soccer, etc before you assume you got scammed.
