I got this same call with the legitimate Chase phone number appearing on caller id giving me a requested verification code. The automated call gave me the option of calling 1-866-355-3744 if I had not requested this code. Of course, I had not requested a verification number.  After calling Chase, the REAL Chase, they confirmed that this was fraudulant activity.

If you receive this call and didn't request it, write down the verification code and the phone number they give you and then call Chase Fraud services to report the information.

I never asked for confirmation code request, yet I got this call it said call back at a different number than the one on the caller id. Most likely a phishing scam!

I got a call from this number also. It is legitimate. I even called the actual Chase number and explained it all to them, and they said the call and number were legitimate.

The 866-355-3744 number IS a Chase number. It is connected to their online support department. This is not a fraud call. I just called Chase and verified.

    Hate Scams
I got the call from that 877-242-7372, about the authorization code and to call back the 866-355-3744 if I never wanted an authorization code.  Sounded totally like a scam, so I called Chase Bank with one of their numbers off their website and told them about it.  I do not and never did have any type of account with Chase.  Just another scam by people who are too lax=zy to get off their a** and get a real job.

Looks like this is a service of TeleSign (.com) I got a string of missed calls from TeleSign's system from some Chase user has our number incorrectly listed on their account.  The string off calls were missed and went to vmail while nobody was around to answer, and TeleSign's system called repeatedly until it gave up.  So if you are listening TeleSign, please limit the number of times your system tries to call.  I called 866-355-3744, and they end up confirming they will scrub my phone number of the user's account.

I called the number on the back of my Chase credit card and confirmed that it wasn't Chase making that call. The tip-off should have been the time; the call came in on my answering machine at 11:04pm. Whatever, I wouldn't believe anyone saying the call was actually legit.

    Curious
I got a similar call from Chase... The originating call was from 1-877-226-5663 and it gave me an 8 digit security code (which I did not ask for).

It did say that if I did not request this code to call 1-866-355-3744

Rather than calling the latter #, I went online to Chase and pulled a different 800# from the site and called them.  According to her review of my account, the CSR said there had been no attempts to access the account in months.  That would be correct as I rarely use this.

Her thought was that someone may have typed in the wrong phone number when they registered.  While this seems unlikely to me, I was not going belabor the point.

Received email saying my Chase card ending in 4829 account is overdrawn. Balance $-1.135.55.  I do have a Chase card but it doesn't end in 4829. They wanted me to call 877-242-7372 or use a hyperlink to login.  I called the real Chase using the number off of the back of my credit card and they said they never sent an email and I don't have a card ending in 4829. The customer rep said it was wise not to call back on the number in the email or use hyperlink to login because it is a fraudulent email and it is someone trying to steal my identity.

I have no Chase account and have been receiving low balance calls resulting in voice-mail messages from this number since switching my cell-phone number, 2 months ago. Maybe it's time-zone differences, but they wake me up at 5:30 a.m. and go through 7:30 p.m., Central time. I finally reached a Chase rep., tonight, who said they have no record, via regular or online banking, of any account associated with my phone number. :(

At first did not recognize this # but then realized that I was using a different computer to login to chase; therefore, chase needed to send a login code to access accounts.  This is a good # and chase takes security seriously.  If you rec'v call from this #, you probably have an acct. with them or someone used your tel # (hopefully not from stolen idenitity!).

Not too bright, are you? Don't tell people it is fraud when you have no clue... it's a valid Chase number. Just because the Chase front-line operators you spoke to had no clue doesn't mean it's fraud. Read the other reviews. I got the same call when I signed on from a different computer. It is NOT fraud.
