Part of a fraud campaign targeting numerous financial institutions.  Note the pattern of shill postings all claiming the number is real - an obvious giveaway.

The large number of phony posts claiming the call is real come from some con artists spamming the site to try to fool people.  There is a similar pattern to other fake calls claiming to be from Chase, Citibank, Bank of America, US Bank, Wells Fargo, RBC, PayPal, etc. all with the same shill postings:

Called Bank of America customer service number.  This 877 number is not one of their numbers.  Should be reported as fraud.

Definitely FRAUD!!!!!  I received a text message from this number saying: "(FREE MSG): pleae call Bank of America regarding a servicing matter at 1-877-498-0338 by 11pm ET today.  Reply STOP to end texts."  I called the number and it immediately asked me to enter private information that BOA would never ask for through an automatic voice/phone call.  From there I searched the number on google and found that many people had similar experiences.  It is definetly FRAUD!!!!!!

Take this comment off this site as it is a LIE and "Austin" is obviously part of the scam.  Shame on you!

This company text messaged me and said they were from bank of america and to call them regarding a financing matter.  When i called, they said it was for my credit card and for identification purposes to give them the 3 digit code on the back of the card.  I got suspicious, and looked it up on the net.  Then i hung up.

I am late on my BoFA credit card payment by several weeks. The text is valid.

Received Text from 34522 pretending to be Bank of America regarding a Service Matter. Requested I call 877-498-0338. Also received a text message from 34522 pretending to be Bank of America. Requested I call 888-795-6262.  I did not respond.
