It is NOT Citibank. My god..when you looked up the number to get to this site, do you REALLY think it wouldn't have shown up on the first page of Google as being a legitimate Citibank number?

I have received many calls from this phone, and does not answer anything, eh called this number and ask me to info on a card that I have Citi bank, I ask for social security, I think you want haser use poorly

I've read all of these posts and here's the deal:  It is Citibank and they are legit.  In this case, it was a new Staples charge card and it was two days past the due date.  Many retailers and gas cards bank with Citi credit division and that's who does the collections.  The phone # they left (866-609-8298) was different than the incoming number we are all complaining about.  I asked to speak with a supervisor instead of providing my DOB and other info that can lead to identity theft.  Once we figured out that I did owe them money, he waived the late fee after I paid online.  Won't make that mistake again, nor will I block them when I'm the one who made the mistake.

The fact is that debt collectors are known for harassing innocent people by calling outdated numbers.

I received calls from this number 3 times today 12:53 pm 3:55 pm and 7:pm

WTF how would you know if bills sure paid. Your crude response shows you are not very bright especially if you think these scam calls are just to find working numbers & sell to other scammers. Shame on you for assuming why they are getting calls. Only thing I can guess at, like you, is you got these calls because you weren't paying bills. We get calls from this number everyday. For a while the caller used a different 949 number. Calls are a recording, the man calling says "my I talk to you a moment". We always hang up or not answer, this has been going on for a couple months.  We do not do business with Citi and never have, and we always pay out bills on time. Would be nice if person calling would be man enough to talk to us personally and give his name.  May God have mercy on his sorry soul.

I have caller ID.  I never answered the call. I'm thankful for the information I received  from this site.

Identifies as Citibank 3 calls today and 2 earlier in the week.

These people call me 10 times a day saying I owe past due Citibank credit card money and I can pay the past due amount with my checking account! First of all I haven't used a Citibank credit card in years and had 0 balance.. I told them to never call me again.. I'm sure they won't listen.

Calls constantly.  When answered, no response, just sounds dead.

This number calls me several times a day for several days in a row. They claim to be calling from Citibank. The first try to  confirm who they are actually speaking with on the telephone and then they start asking for personal information. When I turn the tables and start asking them all kind of personal information then they panic and hang up the phone. It's fraud!!!!!!

Calls me all day long. Gets me introuble at my job and never leaves a message

They are outlawed. They don't care about laws, because they are criminals phishing for identification information.

Please be aware this is a Phishing Scam.  Will claim a late payment is owed and happily take your credit card numbers and bank account.  Whenever you receive calls like this.... call the number back and ask why you received call...do not give them any of your information...simply state the phone number they contacted you on.  If they called you on that number they will be able to tell you if there is a legitimate problem.  Do not give your name or any information.  They should have it all if they are legitmate.
