Wrong advice.  Calling back an unknown number means you have no idea who is on the other end.  Calling the number on the back of the card or calling the number on the bank statement means you absolutely know who you are talking to.

Try not answering unknown calls-they only continue to call because you continue to answer. Also do not call them back-by doing that you are probably getting more calls. *67 does not work on toll free numbers like 877.

You are correct, Cities Bank could be calling for a number of reasons ie; a late payment for Shell or some other company you owe & may be late on a payment. Call the number that's on your bill & ask if they're calling you. Pay it or get a deferred payment with a date etc & they'll leave you alone until next time you're late. If they aren't calling you then, put the # on your do not answer list in your phone & block it if you know how! It's that simple!!!

Was receiving these calls at my work number on a daily basis for two weeks straight. Always automated, even when I answered. Called back and spoke with someone whose first language was obviously not english. I refused to give my name over the phone to confirm my account. My husband and I do not have and have never had any credit cards. I explained this numerous times and the woman continued to ask for my name. I told her again and again that I was not going to give my name to a stranger over the phone when I dont have an account with citi or any other credit company.  She then told me that the account was a goodyear account. I have never even purchased a goodyear tire or anything goodyear in my life. I take my car to the dealership and always pay cash. I was then hung up on. A second call resulting in being put on hold 4 times by the same woman. Who eventually told me that it was probably a wrong number and that they would remove me. SCAM.

I have been getting calls from this number for a while.  I don't answer and today they left a voice mail (first time) saying they were from Citibank asking me to log into a web address to "review my account status." I don't have a Citibank account. I reported this to Citibank's phishing email address.

These idiots keep calling 4-5 times a day, everyday. Sometimes they leave a voice mail, other times they don't.  Citibank is aware of this number and  other numbers they have used.  They are very persistent.  Annoying as it is , I just let the phone ring.  Don't answer it.  Should assign music to the number so when they call, it'll be a pleasant sound.

They just called me first it was a make voice said he was from citi bank. Then I was connected to someone else this time a woman's voice "I'm looking for Steven p" before I could say anything she said "no response I have to disconnect the call" there was barely 1 second between those two lines obviously this is a scam what kind of bank employee would do that and today is 2/20 no bank is open on Washington's birthday.

They've called three times today, none of which I answered.  The third call left a recorded message voicemail stating that I "...need to call Citi regarding an important matter with your card issued by Citi.  This is not a sales call. "
